Job Description The Research Technician I will engage in basic research functions, and facility and equipment maintenance while supporting the larger operations team in completing studies in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner. Role Responsibilities Assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of animal species. Perform animal observations to monitor and assess animal health and monitor the study. Collect and record data on paper and/or in an electronic laboratory information management system (LIMS) in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Introduction to data review for GLP compliance. Sample collection including, but not limited to, non-sterile scrub of collection sites, blood draws, and urine collections. Drug administration including, but not limited to, eye drops, tablets, subcutaneous injections, intramuscular injections, and drug calculations. Basic anesthesia monitoring including intubation/extubation and use of animal warming systems. May serve as a secondary Point Technician on a study. May assist with animal husbandry, including but not limited to cleaning, feeding, watering and enrichment as needed. Perform other training or duties as assigned.
