Essential Work Functions:
• Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures
• Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and operating fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems, ensuring proper functionality
• Scrub in and assist with sterile field setup, ensuring adherence to infection control and procedural protocols
• Perform sheath removal and hemostasis using manual compression or closure devices as directed
• Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs
• Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage of sterile instruments and medications
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols, ensuring proper use of lead aprons, shields, and dosimeters
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Position Summary:
Performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states. Maintains laboratory records. Follows laboratory policies and procedures, as well as maintaining quality control practices in the laboratory.
Performs phlebotomy duties.
Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.
Maintains adequate stock of supplies.
Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.
Performs clerical duties including answering phones, data entry, and filing.
Communicates test results to appropriate healthcare providers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Biology or Science and certified as a MT or CLA (AMT, ASCP, or NCA).(OR) Prior to January 1, 2006, an Associate Degree MLT with 3 years of experience and passed MT (AMT) certification.(OR) Anyone who graduated before February 29, 1992, must have passed the HEW/HHS proficiency exam for Medical Technologist or completed 90 hours in an accredited college with 16 hours in chemistry (6-semester hours in organic chemistry), 12 hours in biology and 3 hours of math and experience training or both covering several fields of medical laboratory work of at least one year and of such quality as to provide the education and training in medical technology.
Laboratory experience preferred.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
