Raba Kistner is seeking a detailed-oriented, dependable Laboratory Technician I to join our Infrastructure team in the Midvale, UT area. The Lab Tech I position will be sampling, processing, and testing materials according to established procedures and specifications. Other responsibilities include:
Perform and keep documentation of routine maintenance and calibration of equipment.
Prepare testing and inspection reports, and safely maintaining documents.
Regularly review test procedures, plans, specifications, general notes, and shop/working drawings before performing assigned duties.
Continual communication with direct report regarding priorities, deadlines, progress, and delays on all projects.
Demonstrate the safe usage, storage, and maintenance of all tools and equipment, including company vehicle.
Meet deadlines and priorities according to established procedures.
Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external personnel.
Understand, adhere, and participate in the Raba Kistner Health & Safety and BBS Programs, setting a good example of our safety standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Completion of Troxler Manufacturing or equal radiation safety course to utilize nuclear gauges, ACI Field Testing Technician Grade 1, and ACI Concrete Strength Testing are all preferred. Otherwise successful applicants without these certifications/trainings may be required to attain them after employment. Related experience may be substituted with approval from the client. Good oral and written communications skills, ability to read and understand procedures, specifications, instruction, labels, reports, etc.is key. Must have some knowledge of basic math and science to analyze lab results.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lab Technician to lead test and evaluation efforts for our next-generation suppressor systems from a human systems perspective. This role will be responsible for human systems testing of our suppressor technologies from bench to field, with a focus on traditional biomechanical analyses (3D motion capture, force plates, etc.) and human factors testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human/soldier systems testing, product testing and evaluation, and proficient in human subjects testing.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for data collection, reduction, and analysis of human subjects and product testing efforts.
Assist with development of testing protocols and test metrics.
Apply appropriate digital signal processing and statistical modelling methods to analyze test data to drive functional product design and development.
Maintain and update equipment, software, and data storage capabilities as needed.
Maintain accurate test records and ensure data integrity.
Recruit and schedule testing participants.
Prepare data visualizations for reports, presentations, and publications.
Collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of data collection experience in the human sciences, preferably in the firearms, defense, or aerospace industries.
Demonstrated proficiency with biomechanical assessment tools such as 3D Motion Capture (Vicon preferred), Force Platforms (AMTI, Bertec, Kistler), and IMU's (APDM, Xsens, Shimmer).
Proficiency using programming software (Visual 3D, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python, C++) for data collection, reduction, and analysis.
Strong background in parametric and non-parametric statistical modelling (linear and non-linear regression, ANOVA, Wilcoxon Signed-Rank, Spearman's Rank) and digital signal processing.
Experience in computer instrumentation and equipment integration.
Experience writing research proposals and compiling test results.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Highly adaptable and capable of thriving in a fast-paced research environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Background and proficiency with firearms and/or suppressor systems (military, competition, recreational shooting), or a strong interest and willingness to learn.

Participates in branch management, department and intra-departmental meetings and quality improvement activities
Adheres to all accreditation, OSHA, FDA, state, local and federal regulations, and USP 797 and USP 800 standards relevant to infusion pharmacy and home medical equipment
Documents all temperature logs, pressure and humidity monitors, records all sterility testing done in the clean room in compliance with company policies and procedures, and USP 797 and USP 800 standards

Qualifications
Successful completion of an approved/accredited Pharmacy Technician training program; IV certification preferred

JOB DESCRIPTION:
While working closely with and under the supervision of a Team Lead and/or the Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for the following primary duties and responsibilities:
Prepare media for tests being performed by the microbiology team
Assist in processing samples and perform routine and entry-level laboratory testing, when needed
Classify and label samples, according to established protocol
Maintain proper laboratory records
Complete sample preparation and testing in a timely manner, according to approved SOPs and correct techniques
Accountable and responsible for proper laboratory practices
Demonstrate knowledge and increase training and experience in maintaining analytical instruments
Comply with ALL ARL workplace policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations
Clean and sterilize laboratory workspace and equipment
Provide support for lab-specific waste management
Maintain laboratory cleanliness at all times
Communicate the status and any issues regarding assigned testing verbally and in writing
Adhere to all GLP, GMP, and ISO regulations as they pertain to the positions functions and duties
Document all activities, results, and report back to supervisor
Report work progress and state of preparation for testing
Stay informed with the latest industry trends, techniques, and best practices
Successfully complete all training, including skills and proficiency testing, within required timeframe
Complete special projects as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS:
Available to work 5 days a week, including weekends as assigned by supervisor
Available and adaptable to work weekends and evening shifts, according to testing demands (may work past midnight or early hours, according to demands)
Able to converse fluently in English, verbally and in writing
Pass all proficiency testing and training courses
Ability to skillfully adapt to changing demands
Competency in industry-specific or industry-related laboratory techniques and procedures
Be able to lift at least 50lbs.
Good understanding of laboratory information systems and laboratory equipment
