Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification Complies with all policies and standards Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Clinical Laboratory Science required Associate's Degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology (MLT) from an accredited institution and at least 5 years of experience in a transfusion service in lieu of required degree Experience Clinical experience working in a transfusion service as obtained from prior work experience or that obtained in clinical rotations through required education. required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of immunohematology and immunology theory. Skill in the operation of laboratory equipment, instrument, computer, and materials. Effective time managing and organizational skills to perform multiple laboratory functions simultaneously. Maintain accurate, timely records of patient information and laboratory results. Strong detail orientation and analytical ability to evaluate and ensure accuracy of data related to laboratory results and patient information. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey understanding of factual and theoretical information and make recommendations to customers. Effective problem solving skills. Ability to work independently and as a team member.
