We are looking for a quality control professional to join our team. The ideal candidate is professional, responsible, punctual, able to move/stand - sometimes for long periods, comfortable in a cold storage environment with strong communication skills (oral/written). The QC Inspector makes sure the right product quality is adequately paired with the customer. This is done by conducting product inspections, communicating and documenting the findings to the required parties, and by physically staging product by order, accurately and on time. The position holder should be communicative and knowledgeable about product quality, as well as consistent and methodical in their inspection approach. Will process anatomic pathology and cytology specimens, as requested. Assists pathologists and histotechs as needed. Will supervise or lead lab assistant I and II positions, as requested. Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalent Preferred: Associate degree in the laboratory or medical-related field from an accredited institution Experience: Required: 3 years of laboratory experience Preferred: In addition to above, basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience Certifications: Required: Phlebotomy certification where State law requires Preferred: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar #LI-SC1 Completes prioritization, receipt, registration, and distribution of specimens. Has responsibility for send out/reference lab shipping, tracking, and billing. Will perform waived testing, as requested. Will assist with processing of anatomic pathology specimens including preparation of microscopic tissue slides, staining and specimen management, as requested.
