This specialized role is critical for ensuring the continuous qualification, calibration, and maintenance of high-precision analytical instrumentation, directly supporting the compliance and integrity of our clinical and commercial testing programs. Key Responsibilities The QC Equipment Technician manages the full lifecycle of laboratory assets and supports the robust quality system that governs their use: Equipment Lifecycle & Maintenance Coordinate and schedule calibration, maintenance, and Installation, Operational, Performance Qualification (IOPQ) activities with Facilities, Metrology, and QC end-users to minimize equipment downtime and address Out of Tolerance (OOT) events immediately. The D'Andrea Lab investigates the mechanisms underlying chromosome instability and cancer susceptibility. Our research focuses on the molecular signaling pathways that regulate the DNA damage response in mammalian cells. Disruption of these pathways-whether through germline or somatic mutations-can lead to genomic instability, sensitivity to ionizing radiation, and defects in cell cycle checkpoints and DNA repair. Such alterations are frequently observed in cancer and contribute to increased mutation rates and tumor progression. The Department of Pathobiology and Veterinary Science (PVS) in the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources (CAHNR), University of Connecticut (UConn), invites applications for a Director for the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (CVMDL). The position will be a non-tenure track, clinical faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Clinical Professor. The appointment includes directing the CVMDL and contributing to departmental teaching. The CVMDL is a nationally recognized veterinary diagnostic laboratory located on the UConn Storrs campus. It is accredited by the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians - the only veterinary diagnostic laboratory in New England with this accreditation - which certifies the laboratory's quality and competence through a rigorous Quality Management System. The CVMDL is a member of national and regional laboratory groups, including the National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN), the Veterinary Laboratory Investigation and Response Network (Vet-LiRN), and the New England Wildlife Disease Cooperative (NWDC), and is a National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) authorized laboratory. A **RESEARCH TECHNICIAN** position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Yana Pikman (*********************************** at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Our research focuses on the application of clinical genomics for development of targeted therapy approaches for acute leukemia, drug testing and combination screening with the ultimate goals of 1) improving understanding of leukemia biology and 2) translating bench discovery to clinical care. You will join a team of investigators leading these efforts in the academic environment, working at the bench, collaborating closely with scientists as well as clinical researchers. You will play an essential, and possibly leading, role in project-focused work. Troubleshoot and solve scientific problems with supervision + Report data in oral and written formats + Monitors laboratory work to ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety information as well as the standard operation procedures specific to each laboratory. + Expected to provide intellectual and interactive commitment to position by keeping up with appropriate literature and research publications. + May be responsible for designing and executing advanced experiments and setting strategy. + Participate in team meetings for experimental planning, discussion of projects and general learning + Participate in research meetings at the DFCI and Boston Children's Hospital + Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience + 1-2 years prior laboratory experience is strongly desired but not absolutely required.
