About our opportunity: The City of Asheville is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Laborer (Operations Crew)in the Community & Regional Entertainment Facilities Department at Harrah's Cherokee Center. This department manages Asheville's premier event spaces, providing top-tier entertainment, sports, and cultural events for the community. The Laborer position plays a crucial role in maintaining the venue's infrastructure and ensuring safe, clean, and functional event spaces.
What you'll be doing:
* Perform basic maintenance and cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
* Perform manual labor in support of venue operations, including setup and breakdown for events
* Assist in the operation of machinery, tools, and equipment such as forklifts, hand tools, and power tools.
* Follow established safety procedures, wearing protective gear and ensuring a hazard-free environment.
* Monitor work areas and report any safety concerns, damages, or maintenance needs.
* Lift, move, load, and unload materials, equipment, and supplies.
* Set up and remove event equipment such as chairs, tables, staging, and barricades.
* Assist with minor repairs to facilities, infrastructure, and event-related structures.
* Support emergency weather response efforts, including snow removal and storm clean-up.
* Communicate with supervisors, teammates, and event staff to ensure smooth event operations.
Salary:$19.40 Hourly

Daily Routine of scaffolding structures at some fascinating professional venues like football and soccer stadiums, baseball fields, tennis courts, golf courses, hockey rinks, and racetracks for example. You can expect to see much of the work we completed while watching a game or event on tv.
Crews which you will be assigned to will be no more than 5 employees and will travel from job to job together as a crew.
