POSITIONS AVAILABLE: 2 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Perform general construction tasks involving physical labor at construction projects and plants. Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces. Learn and follow safety regulations. Provide assistance to craft workers, such as carpenters, plasterers, and masons. Work long, flexible hours as demanded by our customers including nights, weekends, and work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year. Summary: The Yard Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently performing general labor duties at a hauling company, transfer station, recycling center or landfill. Job Details NSC-New Bern Family Store - NEW BERN, NC Part Time with Benefits 20 or More $12.71 StoreABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY Shedule/Hours: Monday-Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (29 hours per week) Lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading a variety of donations, including furniture, appliances, clothing, etc.; determines the suitability of items based on established standards; assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area; and performs routine maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities: Receives, inspects, and sorts donated items such as clothes, shoes, household items, bric -a-brack, etc., according to category and condition; selects items suitable for store display and distributes them to the appropriate area for further sorting and/or pricing; discards items in accordance with established procedures. Packs items in boxes and marks boxes; accordingly, assists in transporting boxes to the appropriate storage area; lif ts and carries items to the appropriate destination for further processing, storage, or display in the store. Assists with organizing items in the warehouse; stores shoes in storage areas; tests electronic items to ensure they are in working order. Collects and empties trash for the warehouse area. Maintains warehouse area in a neat and orderly manner; cleans f loors, tables, and work areas. Observe material and insulated wire while line is running and alert the Operator if line is running out of tolerance. Assist Operator in setting up line for product changeovers and after wire breaks. Cut and install seals in seal box, manage seal opening and closure based upon cable OD. Assist in stringing of production line (in a tube).
