Lakeshore Sport & Fitness - Illinois Center (LSF) is Chicago's #1 Destination for Sport, Fitness & Fun. Located in the east Loop area next to the Lakeshore East community at 211 N. Stetson Avenue. Illinois Center is 120,000 square feet and seven stories tall. Badminton is a new program played on our expansive gym floor. As the program grows, there is a tremendous opportunity to offer extensive programming. Our goal is to grow the Badminton community at the club for our members to enjoy the sport as a fun way to stay in shape, meet and develop friendships. We are currently seeking a Badminton Instructor/Coordinator. Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends. The club hours are 6 am to 9 pm on weekdays and 7 am to 5 pm on weekends. The position requires 10 - 15 hours per week based on the number of lessons and programming scheduled. Candidate must be a United States citizen and live in the Chicago area. Responsibilities Teach private and group lessons from beginner to advanced level players. Assist with Organized Open Play throughout the week. Making sure everyone is getting fair playing time. Run programs throughout the year that will help players develop more skill and knowledge of the sport. Help organize and officiate tournaments and mixers throughout the year. Qualifications: • High School diploma or GED preferred. • Minimum 1-year related experience instructing and/or coaching swim required. • CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness) • Current Lifeguard certification from a nationally recognized organization required, if required by state law. • Water Safety Instructor certification is preferred. • USA Swim Coaching level 1 preferred. • Must possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills, and the ability to work with members in a positive, service-based manner. • Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor.

Job Description The Director of Racquet Sports is responsible for all Racquet sports activity programming within our Chicago based Clubs, including developing and promoting squash, pickleball, and badminton programs for all age groups (as applicable by the Club). The Director of Racquet Sports will organize clinics and private lessons that encourage participation in the Club's racquet activities and promote memberships to all potential prospects. Function as the Club's Racquet Ambassador to enhance the value of the Clubs. Day-to-Day Direct and manage the racquet sports department to ensure financial performance meets budget requirements while achieving the Club's expense objectives, revenue, and profit objectives. Drive the selection, hiring, coaching, mentoring, and educating of all racquet sports personnel in a manner that reinforces the Club's values and philosophies and ensures the operation of the department meets company standards while providing an environment focused on excellent delivery of the company's service culture to exceed Member/Guest expectations. Must be able to interact with Members/Guests professionally, helping them with changes and last-minute requests as needed. Organize, schedule, administer, and promote Member social events, leagues, round robins, drop-ins, ladders, tournaments, lessons, and all other racquet events, as applicable, that appeal to the membership to motivate health and wellness. Develop and promote clinics, private lessons, and adult, junior, and senior programs. Communicate with the Member Experience Team to market racquet events and specials. Participate/conduct new Member orientation(s) into the racquet facility and programs available. Ensure that courts and facilities are maintained in a professional and aesthetically satisfactory manner and that the environment is safe for all users. About You Minimum of 2 years as a Racquets experience. Manager-level experience preferred. Possess financial management experience. Required lesson instruction training. Responsible for maintaining good conduct and safe working habits while in all areas and assuring that others are acting safely. College degree preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
