A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing a basic medical intake for clients at Isaiah House and assessing their well-being as part of a larger medical team. Job duties: Maintain confidentiality and comply with company, state, federal and HIPAA rules and regulations Knowledge of addictions and mental health complications. Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building. Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes: Alcohol and addictive drugs and their physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual impact on the individual and their family. Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and to take appropriate action, when necessary. Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose. Knowledge of the stages of alcohol and other drug withdrawals and ability to take appropriate action at each stage. Take vitals. Administer medication to clients as directed. Charting for insurance purposes. Maintain a positive, professional attitude toward residents, staff, and volunteers. Handle crisis situations in a calm, supportive manner. Create a safe and healthy environment for clients. Requirements: Valid LPN license. Valid driver's license. Self-motivated. Good communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines and stay on schedule. Ability to enforce program requirements. Problem solving abilities. Basic computer skills. Ability to complete and submit reports Adheres to Isaiah House policies and procedures. Attends mandatory in-services and other training/educational programs as required.
