Summary/Objective The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing services to individuals residing in our ICFs (Intermediate Care Facility). The LPN reports to a Registered Nurse and is responsible for working within the scope of their license to ensure that the physical health needs of the clients are met and maintained on an individualized basis in accordance with policies and procedures and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. LPN will coordinate health needs with members of the client's team as well as provide necessary training to team members. LPN will also be responsible for delegating nursing tasks to certified direct service providers. Provides consultation services to staff, residents, parents and significant others regarding health and safety related issues; promotes consistency of programming outside of residential environment; operates county vehicles. Participates in infection control, pharmacy and therapeutics, committee meetings and others as necessary Performs other related duties as assigned. Schedule and conduct departmental meetings on a regular basis to convey items of interest, interpret departmental and Company policies and procedures, etc. , as well as to seek input and feedback from employees. Maintain attendance records for departmental meetings. 8. Identify educational needs within the department and assist in developing learning experiences to meet those needs. 9. Participates in interview, selection, and recommendation for hire process and oversees training of new employees for their areas. 10. Review and approve employee time cards and all time-out requests. Maintain accurate records of employee's time out. 11. Arrange office coverage as needed for employee absences using department employees if at all possible 12. Conduct timely employee evaluations, initiate any necessary disciplinary action, recommend bonuses and pay adjustments. 13. Assist in the development of departmental budget; monitor and report utilization of personnel and supplies. 14. Plan for future departmental needs i.e., staffing, equipment, supplies, budget, and space requirements. 15. Participate in required or recommended Company meetings for employees and/or supervisors. 16. Exhibit interest in personal continuing education to improve clinical and/or management skills. 17. Serve on standing or ad hoc committees as requested or as time and interest permits. 18. Meet with and report to Director or Assistant Director of Nursing on regular basis to share information, ideas, concerns, etc. 19. May be required to travel to off site locations. 20. Maintain confidentiality of all current and former patients and medical records as required by HIPAA regulations and company policy. 21. Perform any other duties necessary in the operation of the departments and/or Company. 22. Complete required HealthStream courses. Other Job Functions 1.
