This includes regular supervision meetings and signing off on clinical documentation. * Contributes to the Clinical Training Program through task supervision, training, consultation, and clinical supervision of trainees (when appropriate requirements of discipline and licensure are met). * Maintains professional licensure and credentials in good standing including the completion of required continuing education credits. * Observes state and national statues and guidelines related to professional role, code of ethics, and confidentiality including FERPA. * Attends weekly Clinical Consultation meetings, biweekly Counseling Services and Wellness Center staff meetings, departmental and divisional professional development sessions and other meetings assigned by the supervisor. * Actively participates in orientation activities and other divisional programs. * Generates up-to-date and accurate reports as needed. * Serves as a member of campus committees as assigned. * Performs other duties as assigned. Specific Responsibilities of the Mental Health Counselor for Student Belonging * Engages in the ongoing assessment of experiences of belonging for all students, identifies barriers to belonging and works to address them on both individual and community levels. * Uses a strength-based approach to foster and affirm resilience within individual students and communities. * Designs and executes innovative educational programs that focus on the intersection between community, belonging, mental health, and well-being with particular attention to empowered collaboration with student groups through the Wellness Liaison Program. * Collaborates with other departments across campus, and specifically the Office of Student Belonging, to further develop a campus environment where the felt sense of belonging is accessible for all students. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications * PhD, PsyD, MSW, or M.A. in Mental Health Counseling or related field * Licensed to practice in the state of Maryland: LCSW-C, LMSW, LCPC, LGPC, or licensed psychologist * Experience managing crisis situations * Demonstrate a profound understanding of and experience in supporting the specific mental health and well-being needs of a diverse community of students. * Successful completion of a background and credential background check * Ability to provide on-call coverage and emergency response * Ability to use Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point) and electronic health record management systems Working Conditions * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely working in a normal office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
