Position Specific Summary
Supervisor has oversight over the daily operations for Partnership Services and SSI/SSDI, Outreach, Access and Recovery (SOAR). Partnership Services assists customers seeking emergency medication assistance, financial assistance resources with rent and utilities and community resource that may present in person or call-in the agency. The SOAR program is designed to increase access to the disability income benefit programs administered by the Social Security Administration (SSA) for eligible adults and children who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and have a serious mental illness, medical impairment, and/or a co-occurring substance use disorder.
Position Summary
Provides direct supervision, training, support, review and evaluation of professional technical and para-professional staff involved in areas which include a broad range of Social Services. This position compiles reports and data to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures as well as assignment and monitoring of cases. This position provides feedback to staff to enhance their capabilities to perform efficiently.

This individual will provide on-site support to both the Ella B. Scarbrough and Valerie C. Woodard Community Resource Centers.
Essential Functions
* Supervise, train and evaluate the performance of technical and professional staff
* Consult with teams and staff on individual case assignments
* Develop procedures to meet department or program goals, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines. Reviews information with teams or staff members to provide guidance and direction in the delivery of services
* Establish performance objectives, conduct periodic reviews, and lead progress toward objectives
* Monitor budget activities and adjusts expenditures; makes budget recommendations as appropriate
* Review and audits staff cases and workloads to prioritize duties and referrals for new cases

* Works a night duty schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Provides for constant coverage of the Child Abuse Hotline by responding timely to callers who contact the Child Abuse Hotline. Responsibilities include gathering, exploring, documenting, interpreting, evaluating, and staffing with the superior's information from reporters of child protective services issues via telephone calls, office visits, mail, and e-mails. This worker is responsible for making a recommendation to superiors as to whether the information reported meets North Carolina statutory definitions and NCDHHS-Division of Social Services Policy guidance around abuse, neglect, and dependency of children. This worker must conduct responsibilities in a hasty and time-sensitive manner in order to facilitate the initiation of accepted Child Protective Services Reports within required timeframes. * Assesses reports of abuse, neglect, or dependency of children using either a forensic investigative assessment approach or a family assessment approach, depending on the severity of the maltreatment reported, and in accordance with state law and divisional policy governing such. Preliminary reviews existing DSS documentation (if such exists) and staff response process with the Supervisor. Conducts a comprehensive initiation of Child Protective Services reports including interviews of all victim children, all caretakers, all persons living in the home, all appropriate collaterals (as indicated by both the reporter and the family being investigated), and all other persons, entities, agencies, professionals, relatives, etc. who might have knowledge about family relationships, behaviors, and incident (or incidences) that prompted the report to DSS. Works collaboratively with law enforcement and prosecutors on joint investigations of a forensic nature. Follows mandated timeframes and procedures for appropriate initiation and continuous process of assessment. Observes the home structure and environment, ensuring that persons, provisions, and location are able to meet the basic needs of each child involved in the report. Completes safety assessments and other tools as appropriate with the family to promote a transparent process. When necessary, explore alternative safety resource placement options with the family, in order to avoid removal of physical or legal custody. Engages the family in planning for safety and well-being, encouraging immediate action and front-loading services. Incites the professional opinions of necessary contributors (law enforcement, medical personnel, mental health professionals, etc.) to determine the required safety measures adequately
* Completes referrals from daytime staff by responding to and completing requested activities for Child Protective Services and Foster Care cases as needed after hours. Responds to emergencies that arise outside of office hours.
* Invokes court action when children cannot be safe in their homes, seeking direction through legal consultation, and completion/filing of all necessary court paperwork. Accompanies law enforcement in taking physical custody of child(ren).
* Participates in forensic joint interviews at the local Child Advocacy Center on appropriate cases (with law enforcement and other appropriate professionals).
* Participates weekly in unit/team staffing, presenting completed case assessments for unit/team decision-making. Solicits guidance, direction, and support from the supervisor individually at any point in case and/or requests assistance in completing tasks, if needed.
* Documents all activities, contacts, dates, and times using a structured documentation tool. Requests necessary supporting documentation from external sources and places it in the case file.
* Participates in local, professionally-enhancing, and state-mandated trainings. Participates in monthly MDT meetings to discuss specific cases in a multi-disciplinary setting. Participates in quarterly internal meetings with all fellow assessors to discuss policy changes, service gaps, equipment needs, process instruction, etc.

Care Management for At-Risk Children (CMARC) is an at-risk population management program that serves children from birth to 5 years of age who meet certain risk criteria. ROLE OVERVIEW:
Social Workers at KIPP North Carolina provide crucial support and services to students. In this role, social workers will work directly with students, teachers, community partners and families to provide individual and group counseling, as well as link families to long-term solutions and external support organizations. Social Workers report to their school Principals and are coached by the Director of School Social Work on the Regional Support Team.
Responsibilities of a School Social Worker include, but are not limited to:

Community Support Team (CST) provides direct support to adults with a Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Fifth Edition (DSM-5) diagnosis of mental illness, substance use, or comorbid disorder and who have complex and extensive treatment needs. This service consists of community-based mental health and substance use services, and structured rehabilitative interventions intended to increase and restore a beneficiary's ability to live successfully in the community. The team approach involves structured, face-to-face therapeutic interventions that assist in reestablishing the beneficiary's community roles related to the following life domains: emotional, behavioral, social, safety, housing, medical and health, educational, vocational, and legal.
General Role Requirements: This is an intensive community-based rehabilitation team service that provides direct treatment and restorative interventions as well as case management. CST is designed to provide: a. symptom stability by reducing presenting psychiatric or substance use disorder symptoms; b. restorative interventions for development of interpersonal, community, coping and independent living skills; c. psychoeducation; d. first responder intervention to deescalate a crisis; and e. service coordination and ensure linkage to community services and resources.
This team service consists of a variety of interventions available 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week, 365-days-a-year, and delivered by the CST staff, who maintain contact and intervene as one organizational unit. CST services are provided through a team approach, however discrete interventions may be delivered by any one or more team members if clinically indicated. Not all team members are required to provide direct intervention to each beneficiary on the caseload.

Supervision Requirements: Clinical supervision for the CST Staff is provided by the licensed Team Lead who has the knowledge, skills, and abilities required by the population served.
