Responsibilities
* Assists the patient and family with health related financial, social and emotional concerns and assists with effective coping skills.

Work Schedule:

REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of the special needs and behavioral characteristics of severely emotionally/behaviorally disturbed children and their families.
Knowledge of psychotherapy principles and techniques.
Knowledge of psychotropic medications to include their use and their side effects.
Ability to perform individual and family therapy to include behavior modification, RET, parental education and problem solving skills.
Ability to provide leadership to the in-home counselor and assist in his/her clinical skills.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other professionals and other agencies.
Ability to organize and manage one's own activities with a minimum of direct supervision.
Ability to work flexible hours due to the special needs of children and their families.
Participate on a rotating 24-hour on-call roster.
Ability to quickly establish rapport with clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology and at least one year of applicable experience.
Must have ALC, LPC, LGSW, or LCSW (see note below)
Some clinical experience preferred.
Degree and experience must meet requirements for Approved Medicaid Provider status.
Must hold a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that is acceptable to Carastar's insurance carrier.
Must maintain at least liability coverage on personal vehicles.
Must hold and maintain a current Red Cross First Aid, CPI and CPR certificate.

If hired, you will begin as a Therapist I which is in a classification with a lower salary range. While you are not required to obtain a license; if/when you become licensed, you will advance to the Therapist II classification.****
