Job Description:
Fast paced work environment overseeing the shipping paperwork creation for a facility that ships multimillion dollars" worth of product annually. Will receive and communicate with carriers as they arrive to make their pick-ups. Create bill of ladings for all domestic outgoing shipments. Assist in all other activities that are duties of the warehouse.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
* Receive and greet carriers as they arrive to pick up their scheduled shipments.
* Direct carriers to correct loading dock and assist with lock out procedures.
* Create bill of ladings for all outgoing domestic and Canada shipments.
* Create packing slips for all outgoing domestic and Canada shipments.
* Communicate with carriers daily for domestic and Canada shipments.
* Create customs invoices for shipments moving to Canada.
* File necessary paperwork according to the federal regulations.
* Assist with the production team on order complexities and correcting pick tickets.
* Become certified in how to utilize the hazardous shipping federal regulations.
* Assist with placing tracking information on all outgoing shipments.
* Will utilize the FedEx small packaging system for shipments.
* Daily close the orders that shipped for the day withing the Oracle system.
Education & Additional Requirements:
* High School Diploma.
* Preferred - APICS/CPIM certification.
* Preferred - Undergraduate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or equivalent work experience.
* Preferred - Certified in Hazardous Material shipping.
* Preferred - 1-3 years of related transportation experience within a manufacturing/retail warehousing facility.
* Strong customer service, problem solving, issue resolution, and communication skills.
* Form key joint relationships with Manufacturing, Production Planning, Supply Chain and Commercial Teams.
* Detail oriented, provide clear communications and with the ability to have a sense of urgency.
* Must be able to operate in both an independent and Team work environments.
* Experience with the following systems is preferred - Oracle, Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams. SAP experience a plus.

Your Role
The Warehouse Operator 1 at MilliporeSigma's Allentown, PA site will support the shipment of customer orders following procedures and guidelines for selecting, checking, packing and unpacking inbound and outbound shipments. Responsibilities include the following:
Check chemicals, catalog number, lot number, special request information, unit size, and weights against order documentation found in packing instructions
Accurately pull and stage materials from storage locations, ensuring order accuracy and stockroom organization
Package materials and apply all required labeling in strict accordance with established procedures and hazardous materials regulations
Stage finished boxes to be metered and shipped and distribute completed orders to the appropriate area of the facility
Use proper equipment for appropriate order (size of order, weight, etc.,)
Unload inbound trucks and unpack shipments, distributing materials to designated storage locations
Store and organize unpacked items and packing material in appropriate areas of warehouse and perform shelf maintenance in stock areas
Pick up trash and debris in work station and stock areas
Hours: Monday-Friday. Core shift hours are typically 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM, with flexibility in start and end times (up to a one-hour variance). Eligible for overtime. Occasional weekend hours may be necessary

Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to size, type, style, color, or product code, and ensure that they are properly accounted for, stored, and rotated.
Complete all paperwork in an accurate and prompt manner.
Maintain safe and efficient warehouse operations and product handling by following all instructions and safety requirements.
Actively take part in physical inventories and cycle counts emphasizing product identification and accuracy.
Abide by all corporate operating policies, procedures, and employee regulations set by the Warehouse Manager and Branch Manager.
Be on time, present, and ready to work for at least 40 scheduled hours per week during core business hours (6:30 AM 4:30 PM) and available for Saturday shifts (6:30 AM 12:00 PM) once training is fully completed.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
MATERIAL HANDLER BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), at least one year related warehouse experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to lift 100 pounds.
MATERIAL HANDLER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate and follow procedures.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Proficiency with basic math skills.
Ability to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift and possess a safe driving record.

Responsibilities
+ Ensure warehouse standards are upheld by working in a safe and professional manner
+ Load and unload route delivery trucks and tractor trailers by hand and forklift
+ Palletize products for loading
+ Operate warehouse equipment such as Forklifts, Electric Pallet Jacks etc.
+ Take care of our products through proper handling and storage
+ Ensure inventory is properly maintained
+ Ensure good housekeeping and warehouse standards are upheld
+ Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
+ Move our delivery trucks for loading and unloading and perform truck refueling
+ Handle administrative responsibilities as needed (bay mapping, inventory tasks, damaged product counts, and allowing housekeeping entry during their scheduled time)
Qualifications
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
+ Must possess a valid Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record (no major driving offenses in the last 3 years)
+ Ability to repeatedly lift up to 60 lbs. during the work shift
+ Willing to work overtime as needed
