As a Forklift Operator with Liberty Packaging, you will contribute to the growth of our business by being a key player in safely moving goods and materials around a high traffic industrial environment. As a Forklift Operator you will help maximize efficiency of the production process by safely operating mobile equipment to move product, accurately scanning inventory in and out of the business, operating shrink wrap machines, and preparing shipments for transportation.
This full-time position reports directly to a Production Supervisor and is located at our Rock Island, IL manufacturing facility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Safely operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, lift trucks, hoists, or other material handling equipment in a high traffic industrial environment.
* Accurately utilize an electronic scanning system to include a touch screen monitor located on the forklift, to track inventory levels and product location.
* Responsible for regularly completing pre-operation inspection and reporting equipment faults or damages to leadership or maintenance.
* Prepare shipments for transport, consolidate partial pallets, and operate the shrink wrap machine as needed.
* Move product and/or materials throughout the facility, including loading and unloading trailers.
* Follow safety regulations and company guidelines.
* Other duties, as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution AND 1+ year experience operating mobile equipment or comparable experience in place of education.
* Previous experience with computer skills such as typing, printing, and data entry.
* Previous experience applying math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
* Previous experience reading, following, and/or completing detailed work instructions.
* Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks.
* Knowledge of distribution documentation: pick lists, packing slips, and bills of lading.
* Knowledge of warehouse organization, workflow as well as basic inventory control (I.e.: Amtech).

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting pay rate for this position is $21.00 per hour. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting.
