We're seeking a MachineOperator to support production operationsin a high-volume manufacturing environment in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you will be responsible for but not limited to operating assigned machine(s) and area 6S Maintenance/Housekeeping.
MachineOperator Duties & Responsibilities:
Operatemachineryin accordance with On-the-Job Training (OJT) guidelines and established machineoperation procedures.
Perform machine setup, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting following work instructions.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including tasks such as mopping, sweeping, collapsing cardboard, stacking pallets, and disinfecting machines at the beginning and end of shifts.
Support and uphold the 6S program within the work area.
Assist the Line Lead with production processes as needed.
Ensure product quality by understanding all quality requirements, including traceability codes, trilingual codes, and GHS pictograms.
Execute flushing processes according to work instructions.
Fill containers from boards and rotate to other production lines when assigned line is down or as required.
Perform manual operationsin certain areas, such as stacking cases on pallets, loading bottles, empty boxes, and rolls of labels onto the line.
Complete other assigned projects as directed.

A Day in the Life of an IAF Team Member?
As a MachineOperator,

Once the cycle is complete, then the parts are unloaded and inspected according to IAF quality standards. There are chemicals used in the machine processing such as caustic, acids, zinc, paint-like coatings, and oil. As a machineoperatorin these areas there are different chemical smells.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
* Perform routine set-up and changeover of machines, making adjustments as needed to process operations accordingly.
* Run orders per product specifications and standard practices. This may include sorting, labeling, and packaging products per customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practices
* Perform tests and check products routinely for multiple characteristics using standard measuring tools, tape measures, etc.

* Contribute and participate in team decision-making processes, including problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts. Provide support in project work and other special requests.
* Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience
* Must be able to follow written and oral instructions

Must be able to work D Shift: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Every Other Sunday, 645P to 7AM. $2.00 per hour shift differential for D shift.
Job Duties:
Maintains a clean and orderly work area/warehouse
Maintains company's quality standards and a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures and reports unsafe conditions and incidents
Operation of the extrusion line and its operational functions which would include but not limited to; machine set-up, films and resins, color concentrates and/or additives, production speeds (input or output), start and stop functions, change over, down times, die and screw tear down, screen pack, line specific tools and proper lock out/tag out procedures
Maintain extruded product to required gauge, length, width, bond strength, and color, dyne, maintaining surface finish or identifying surface defects and performing quality control tests required. This includes double check and data collection procedures currently in place
Transfers data to the daily production log book, quality control documents or forms used in the production process
Follow the production schedule and other related documents necessary to produce and meet customer orders including those with instructions
Communicate line malfunctions in a timely manner to ensure production downtime is kept to a minimal
Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and/or 1-2 years of experience or a forklift certification
Ability to read production tickets
Ability to work at an accelerated pace
Ability to perform math calculations; and measure using measuring tape or other instruments
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; must be computer literate
Must be dedicated to continuous improvement
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, or stand for extended periods of time
