Operate CNC lathe machines to manufacture high-precision parts according to technical specifications and customer requirements. Machine setup and operation: Set up and operate CNC lathes, including selecting and installing tools, attachments, and accessories. Technical interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations, dimensions, and tolerances. Monitor production: Observe machine operations to ensure parts meet specifications and production runs efficiently. Adjustments and optimization: Make real-time machine setting adjustments to maintain quality, minimize scrap, and improve cycle times. Precision inspection: Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to inspect parts and verify conformance. Routine maintenance: Perform basic maintenance and cleaning to ensure machines are in optimal working condition. Safety compliance: Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations during operation and maintenance activities. Collaboration: Communicate with supervisors, programmers, and team members to resolve issues and meet production goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Performs typical machine shop and mold press operations to support the assembly floor. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Competence to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to present information effectively one-on-one. Good computer, math and reading skills needed. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
