**THIS IS A SECOND SHIFT POSITION: Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm**Training expected to take place on 1st shift for 6-8 weeks, then will move to 2nd shift Using automated and manual processes, resins, various fiberglass roving, fabrics and other materials to produce round tubes and shapes to quality and productivity standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Maintains manual production records. Performs various mixtures of resins, roving splices, cloth splices and set-ups using measuring and dispensing tools. Maintains tooling records. Locates and pulls tooling and materials for processing. Move materials to designated staging and storage areas to support production. Maintains all necessary tests that are done a specified times and responsible to check all physical and visual tolerances set for the product. Responsible for all necessary processing information to be passed on to the next operator before leaving shift. Performs random cycle counts to assure inventory accuracy. Conducts equipment inspections and cleaning. Maintains clean and safe work environment in assigned areas. Takes direction from supervisor; when necessary, direction is communicated through shift lead. Continuous learning and demonstration of knowledge in order to achieve increasing operator levels (from trainee up to Level 4). (Mission): This position is responsible for the operation of machinery, equipment, and tooling required in the manufacturing of piston rings. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: (Duties include but are not limited to) Uses quality standards to ensure set-ups are done correctly and operates the machinery at an acceptable rate, ensuring that the machinery runs within process control parameters while practicing safety compliance at all times. Follows SPC chart measurements requirements while operating the machinery in order to produce product that meets with strict design and quality standards. Follows work instructions to determine proper method of performing quality work Performs unskilled maintenance as required. Stacks, marks, packs, and transports finished work pieces. Records data on employee time/job card in the computer. Maintains work area in a neat and organized manner. Notify team leader or supervisor of any mechanical or material issues/shortages and recommends production efficiency and quality improvements to supervisor. Immediately report incidents and accidents in work area. Follows applicable safety and environmental rules and regulations Participate/Establish an environment and culture that promotes safety in the workplace. Attends and contributes to department and Company meetings. Work Environment This job operates within a plant environment subject to indoor factory conditions; heated in winter and non-air conditioned in summer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. May have to transfer product from one building to another. High School diploma or GED is required. Minimum of one-year factory or equivalent experience is preferred in metal forming, machining or operation of machines. Fluent in English with comprehensive speaking, writing, spelling skills. Must be able to perform basic math. Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Physical Demands Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds routinely and be physically capable of full range of motion as required to perform all tasks and functions as listed above. Summary/Objective Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plastic extrusion equipment that is used to produce the poly material used for mud flap manufacturing. Perform work quality checks and monitor machine output. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
