Avanti is seeking Rewinder Operators and Technicians to join our growing Company!
Rewinder Operators and Techs are essential to the finishing stages of our Production process. Operators utilize a Celli/Rewinder machine to slit and rewind large rolls of our non-woven materials into smaller rolls for transportation to our customers around the world. Operators must understand the various cores used and the different specifications for all product rolls, while taking care to monitor for any defects, wrap rolls with high quality, and apply labels to the rolls with correct details.
Job Details:
Full-Time: Fixed 2-2-3 rotation, 12-hr shifts
Day Shift - 7:00AM-7:00PM or Night Shift - 7:00PM-7:00AM
Pay starting at $18/hour with growth potential
Night Shift eligible for $2/hour night shift bonus pay
Positions available at $20-24/hour for candidates depending on experience and education
Holidays worked are paid double time

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain a working knowledge of the sequential Control Logic that oversees the operation of the line
Understand the different classifications of cores used, such as core thickness, core diameter etc.
Know all the specifications used to define the product rolls such as length, weight, diameter.
Utilize the Avanti software to log in specific details and product specifications.
Actively watch the material running to identify any defects; must be able to identify the various types of defects.
Responsible for flagging sections of jumbo with any defects or issues using proper color code.
Operate an overhead crane and vertical wrapper.
Change shaft extractors for respective core diameters used.
Correctly set knives; must know how to adjust and replace knives as needed.
Carry out functions of the wrapper i.e. set Film Tension, replace Shrink Wrap into Carrier, thread wrapper.
Read and interpret information on labels; apply labels onto rolls.
Identify the different colors of labels and understand the significance of each type.
Utilize appropriate cardboard side covers for final product (rolls).
Distinguish between an FDA Product and non-FDA product and follow proper FDA rules and protocols when applicable.
Collect standard samples and for QA testing.
Add re-feed to the machines as needed.
Perform manual/automatic operations of the Rewinder.
Read, fill and understand Operator Panel.
Know parts and locations of Celli operating devises, such as alarms and lock system.
Initiate E-Stops under necessary usage conditions.
Work across multiple lines, as needed.
Perform routine maintenance procedures.
Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed and utilize proper PPE.
Keep work station clean and organized.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in a hot/non-climate controlled environment
Must be able to stand for 12-hour shift on hard surfaces
Must be able to perform extensive walking; climbing multiple stairs throughout the shift
Job requires occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to push, pull, lift items from the ground, bend at the knee and waist, and reach above shoulders.
Position requires full hand dexterity to utilize hands and tools and cut/pinch/pull/grab fibers and materials.
Education & Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associates or degree from Technical Institution preferred
Previous manufacturing experience is preferred

As Machine Operator, you will have the ability to perform required tasks to keep equipment running. Perform minor set ups and troubleshoot equipment issues. This position reports directly to the Department Manager and is supported by the department's Team Lead(s). This position works Monday through Thursday 3:00pm - 1:30am with overtime as needed. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Using blueprints to do visual product inspections to verify conformance to print specifications and tracking conformance using the Screw MFG Inspection sheet and SPC program. (40%)
Changing tools and adjusting machine back to proper specification. (30%)
Performing housekeeping/daily machine maintenance and troubleshooting manufacturing issues. (20%)
Driving a forklift to retrieve raw material or deliver finished products to outbound staging area. (10%)

The Operator is responsible for operating a given number of plastic blow molding machines (including in-line equipment), and makes necessary adjustments or minor repairs to ensure production of containers is made in a safe, efficient and high quality manner. The primary duties of an Operator include:
+ Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.

+ Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned
+ Operate a group of plastic blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment producing a container in a safe and high quality method.

+ Perform and/or assists in mold, insert and color changes on the line.
+ Perform basic processing of injection and/or blow molding machines to improve machine efficiency and reduce scrap.
+ Perform tasks and responsibilities of any Utility position during slow periods and/or as needed.
+ Monitor HDPE/PET resin (if applicable), dryer, material handling and color systems for appropriate processing conditions.
+ Make frequent on time quality checks on products being produced from established quality standards.
+ Assist other Operators and maintenance personnel on mechanical repairs.
+ Perform assigned preventative maintenance work.
+ Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.
+ Complete and file all required documentation in an orderly and timely manner.
+ Communicate with the Production Shift Supervisor to coordinate production line support staff in accomplishing the lines' objectives.
+ Verify material usage per standards
+ Perform minor troubleshooting and programming on the line. Notify leads and supervisors of any major problems or questions.
+ Operate equipment to minimize the generation and maximize the consumption of regrind, purge and scrap within customer specifications where applicable.
+ Properly identify regrind and chunk produced.
+ Communicate processing information to designated personnel on incoming shift. Assist other Operators as needed.
+ Assist in the training of new Operators.

The position of Production Operator is a non-exempt position that will work a rotating 12-hour shift. Operators are responsible for operation of all equipment and production of PVC pipe. It is also frequently necessary to stand, bend, squat, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull equipment.
Reports To: Team Leader
Duties/Responsibilities:
Lift pipe from beller table to the pipe cart when required.
Stack pipe in the cart.
Hourly dimensional checks and associated paperwork as well as machine readings
Ability to make necessary changes on the extrusion lines to ensure quality pipe without assistance.
Maintain a consistent level of production with minimal amount of scrap.
Operate all equipment safely and according to proper procedure.
Ensure that the shift codes and dates are changed and that all print is legible and correct according to specification sheet, including ink color.
Assist in product changes when necessary.
Follow all safety guidelines and company policies
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
All other duties assigned by Management.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Manufacturing Expierence
Fork Lift experience
Be able to work 12 hour shift 2-2-3 rotation
