Review AutoCAD or other CAD drawings and build the detailed components of progressive dies such as die blocks, strippers, stick cutting punches, form punches, punch plates, etc. Familiarity with transfer presses and deep draw tooling is a plus Offer input regarding proper punch-to-die clearances, when to add coin blocks to reduce burrs, analyze strip layouts, verify bend allowances, etc. Offer input regarding press and secondary cycle times and overall progressive tooling costs. This is a second shift position from 2:30 pm cst to 12:30 am cst Monday to Thursday. In this role, you will progress to interpret design schematics, cut and shape dies, and assemble the completed parts. You will also test the performance of the completed product. Essential Job Functions Build draw, transfer, and progressive dies for the metal stamping industry Set up and operate machines such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines. Build welding, inspection, and assembly fixtures per design Ability to read prints and complicated schematics in order to manufacture new tooling fixtures and machine parts. Assist with die maintenance.
