Electrician, Maintenance Under general supervision, performs the full range of skilled, journeyman level Electrician duties in order to support the education mission of the District and to enhance the education environment. The maintenance electrician will work as part of a team to Install, inspect, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related systems for the school district. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs skilled maintenance and repair of building structures, equipment and facilities, with major emphasis on electric systems and components Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures control devices and equipment. Other duties as directed by the Director of Physical Properties or assigns. QUALIFICATIONS: Good oral and written communication skills. General knowledge of building construction and systems, and repair terminology. General knowledge of line voltage and low voltage electrical systems and maintenance trades in a commercial environment. Ability to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install rigid galvanized electrical conduit, using tools such as a pipe threader, conduit bender and other standard tools of the trade. Ability to interact with supervisors, staff, vendors, co-workers and the public using a positive, collaborative approach. Ability to problem solve and engage necessary staff/supervisors to address facility issues. Initiative and ability to work with minimal direction or monitoring; sound judgment and decision making capabilities are essential. Ability to coordinate, organize, schedule and assign work when necessary. Ability to perform well under stress and meet deadlines. Ability to perform all requirements of a preventive maintenance technician. Numerical ability required to make proper calculations.
