How Will You Make an Impact?:
In this role you will produce dry powder and liquid media consisting of various raw materials used in life science applications. The Manufacturing Technician II will perform various operations using specialized equipment ranging from manual to automated process steps. This role requires a high level of attention to detail with safety, quality, and other production standards in mind to contribute to the site's overall success.
A Day in the Life:
Use various equipment for processing.
Interpret established protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment and ensure product quality and consistency.
Collaborate and work with diverse teams to support manufacturing.
Monitor critical process parameters for equipment and perform routine checks to ensure process integrity and identify any deviations.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Required: Minimum of 1 years of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production or lab setting or related field
Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Follow multi-step instructions and document accurately for safety and quality.
Familiarity with advanced manufacturing processes and adept at identifying practical process improvements.
Proficiency in completing and training others effectively to accomplish department's processes.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Capable of lifting, moving up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, squatting, bending, and reaching during tasks.

We are currently hiring for Production Workers at our manufacturing plant in Lockport, New York, about 30 miles north of Buffalo and 20 miles east of Niagara Falls. As a Production Worker you play a key role in helping us meet goals and objectives and will work to produce specialty materials that are important to customers in strategic end markets such as aerospace and defense, oil and gas, chemical processing, electrical energy and medical.
As a Production Worker you will have the opportunity to work in either our Vacuum Induction Melting or Remelt department. In order to become successful and provide immediate impact, you will have to quickly learn ATI, our manufacturing process, and products while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including engineering, maintenance, quality, and others. Workplace safety is also one of our strategic core values that we live by and you will have a vital role in ensuring that we continue to have safe working operations and processes.
This is a union role that rotates shifts on a weekly basis. You must be willing to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift hours, as well as weekends, holidays, and overtime (including up to 12-hour shifts) as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
Vacuum Induction Melting
Material movement throughout the plant using mobile equipment such as cranes and lift trucks
Setting up and feeding material into molds
Arrangement and distribution of charge material that's melted in the furnace
Rebuilding tasks for anneal boxes and other crucial components to the manufacturing process
Recording and tracking material specifications and manufacturing criteria/results for quality records
Remelt
Material movement throughout the plant using mobile equipment such as cranes and lift trucks
Assist with set up and operation of equipment and material within the Vacuum Arc Remelt (VAR) process and Electro-slag Remelt (VAR) process
Perform welding (MIG), cutting/sawing, and grinding using various machines and tools
Recording and tracking material specifications and manufacturing criteria/results for quality records

SUMMARY:
In addition to the duties of a Production Worker I, the Production Worker II must follow all plant safety, Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety rules and regulations. Documentation and paperwork procedures must be followed as well as verbal and written instructions and guidelines according to the job requirements. The Production Worker II is responsible for feeding and loading packing materials to the production line, verifying quality standards, stacking cases on to pallets, and maintaining good housekeeping for multiple production lines. This role does not have direct reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
Must be able to perform manual tasks to which support the continuous operation of the production lines, such as:
Packing
Stacking
Dumping
Operate and tend the case (maker, packer, coder, and sealer) equipment.
Maintain supply of caps, bags, boxes, box parts, etc.
Record and count bundles/cases of containers provided to the production line.
Communicate container needs with forklift driver.
Responsible for immediately identifying non-conforming product or equipment to their supervisor at any step of the operation.
Must be able to perform sanitation maintenance on all equipment required.
Perform visual inspections of materials and final products to meet quality requirements.
Must be able to record data clearly and accurately follow production guidelines.
Use safety cutters and small hand tools as required.
Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Responsible for food product quality and safety.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
1 year experience within a food processing, bottling, liquid filling/blending and/or consumer goods manufacturing/packing environment preferred.
Ability to use common hand tools, weight scale and thermometer.
Continuous mental and visual attention is required to perform duties, involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity.
Basic mathematics skills required.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software.
