WORK SCHEDULE Part-Time Overnight/Early Morning Hours This is a temporary entry level non-exempt position. Under the direction of the Distribution Center Manager (DCM) or the Assistant Distribution Manager (ADM), performs administrative tasks for the daily distribution center operations and can assist with the manual labor aspects of the operation. Train to operate fork trucks within three months and other equipment up to 20 tons, e.g. track trucks, cable trucks, switcher, etc. (as required). Use manual and electric packaging equipment. Perform yard operations and spare part operations, including: picking, loading, measuring cable, tagging reels, inventories, coil cutting and fabrication, re-reeling, transformer operations, crane/rigging operation etc. Perform environmental administrative and manual work such as inspecting and maintaining storage areas, spill notification/clean up, manifesting waste on EMIS and logging drums in and out on tracking forms (hard copy and computer) and on computer tracking programs. Load and unload material or drums on to vehicles with lifting devices, which includes picking and packaging company and vendor materials. Make safety the first priority and identify any potential safety and environmental hazards. In addition, the Loader Operator will be required to maintain documentation of vehicle movement around the facility. Provides service to customers as needed. Maintains a positive and professional demeanor. Follows yard guidelines to maintain a safe working environment (i.e. speed limits, etc.). Must be able to load and unload vehicles as required. Must be able to pass training and safety requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Experience: HS diploma or GED preferred. At least two years of work experience, preferably in an outdoor environment. One year of loader or forklift experience, certification preferred. Excellent customer service attitude and skills. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Positive attitude/High Integrity. Ability to operate heavy equipment. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail. Occasional O.T. as needed. Bilingual skills a plus.
