Safely remove snow and ice from entire vehicle when required/needed. Obtain safety, first aid or other relevant in-service training as required by supervisor. Perform other essential duties when truck is not available or when duties are completed, as directed by supervisor. Responsible for the movement of materials for the plant, in-house or at other sites, to include loading and unloading of trucks, movement of raw materials and completed shipments to and from sites, house call pickups, and storage of goods. Dispose of waste materials in and around job sites. Follow verbal instructions or read work orders to determine materials and containers to be moved. Load materials into and from vehicles, install strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, assisting truck driver. Convey materials to and/or from storage or work sites to designated areas using hand truck and tow motor. Participate in training regarding proper and safe operation of hand truck and tow motor. Occasionally count, weigh and/or record number of units of material moved or handled. Assist in preparation of all shipping documentation for materials being shipped from premises. Lift heavy objects by hand. Maintain clean work area, machines and/or equipment. Responsible for operation of baler equipment including but not limited to pricing, inventory control, etc. Will notify supervisor in the event of problems with equipment.
