Summary
As directed, the Material Handler performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with receiving, stocking, kitting, packaging, and shipping goods of the establishment in which employed. Runnings has a career opportunity for a Distribution Center Loader in our Rome, NY location. This position will report directly to the Distribution Center Shipper Lead and Supervisor.
The Distribution Center Loaders are responsible for efficiently loading and unloading products into and from dry van trailers including flatbeds. Prior forklift experience or ability to operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner is required.
Pay Range: $17 to $20 per hour
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Loading & unloading of trailers, including flatbeds
Maintain proper trailer weight distribution while maximizing trailer cubes/space
Perform piece counts to verify accuracy
Scan merchandise into inventory using scanning equipment.
Scan product and pallets to truck Id's in an accurate manner.
Print price tags and price merchandise accordingly.
Break down merchandise into smaller quantities for shipping to retail locations.
Assist with floor loaded shipments, both inbound and outbound.
Responsible for accurate allocation of quantities.
Submit packing slips and freight bills as necessary.
Cross check quantities to packing slip, making necessary notations when needed.
Load merchandise onto proper pallet, shrink wrap when necessary.
Properly secure shipments to prevent product and trailer damage.
Practice safety in the workplace by using safe work habits with a safety-first mindset.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Required to perform some or all of the following: load, unload, and pick orders while maintaining accuracy of inventory records.
