What you'll be doing:
As a warehouse associate you may work in one of the following six areas:

Warehouse Receiving/Putaway/Returns: You will confirm accuracy of product and work with colleagues to address discrepancies and damages. You will communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external contacts to clarify and resolve issues. You will be manually unloading trucks and palletizing products. You will be operatingmaterial handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to move product within the warehouse while adhering to safety procedures. Not all work will be completed on Material handling equipment.
Warehouse Returns: You will be operatingmaterial handling equipment to move product within the warehouse. You will be matching item quantities and descriptions to packing slips on returned items, checking in returned product and tagging it appropriate. You will be operatingmaterial handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to move product within the warehouse while adhering to safety procedures. Not all work will be completed on Material handling equipment.
Shipping: You'll be responsible for organizing, stacking, and shrink-wrapping customer orders on pallets. You'll be loading trucks manually; lifting, lowering, and carrying product in a fast-paced environment and stacking empty pallets while maintaining a safe and clean workspace as you go.
Please note, as an SC2 associate you may be moved into any of the above roles, or SC1 roles, as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Use forklift to load, unload, move and stack products.
Receives, unpacks, packs, and ships materials and products.
Counts and checks items and prepares reports as necessary.
Operates forklift or similar material handling equipment.
Unloads inbound shipments from trailers and loads outbound shipments on trailers.
Loads outbound shipments on local delivery trucks according to delivery route or on customers' trucks.
Stacks and takes down pallets in storage areas.
Moves, stores, organizes and reorganizes a variety of material and products as directed.
Use hands, hand trucks, pallet jacks or similar non-powered equipment to move materials.
Reports inventory discrepancies, stocks shortages, and incomplete orders.
Prepares, packs, and labels for products for shipment using protective wrapping, boxes, pallets, and crates.
Identifies fragile material or poorly packaged material and may construct non-standard packing or reinforcing to ensure products protection from damage.
Verifies and double checks picked product against packing slip to ensure item and quantity accuracy and inclusion of all items.
Applies shipping labels, bills-of-lading, and packing lists.
Maintains and organizes warehouse as directed
Participate and assist in the physical counts of inventory as required.
Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Team
Requires at least 3 months of relevant experience.
Forklift operation certification preferred.
Valid driver's license.
Basic PC skills for inputting and processing shipments and entering pulled order data into inventory/order processing system.
Must adhere to good safety practices and rules and exhibit common sense.
Requires ability to read and write English at a basic level.
Experience with various types of equipment

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods while performing warehouse tasks.

Visual acuity to read labels, inventory lists, and shipping documents accurately.
Mobility to move safely throughout warehouse and storage areas, including climbing ladders or stairs if necessary.
Tolerance for varied environmental conditions, including temperature changes, noise, and dust in warehouse settings.
Ability to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for safety.

Art Handler/Driver, Long Island City
UOVO seeks a Art Handler/Driver to join its dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the art world, storage/collection management knowledge, and will be comfortable moving a wide range of art objects. The Art Handler/Driver will report to the Technical Services Supervisor.
Core Responsibilities
Proper handling of art objects, using the appropriate methods and materials for packaging, loading & securing for safe transport
Install/de-install artworks onsite or at offsite locations, often troubleshooting and utilizing critical thinking to solution scope changes
Preparation and careful execution of paperwork, including bills of lading, labels, driver logs, and detailed condition reports with accompanying photos if necessary
Receive and release shipments into warehouse facilities
Pack artworks for local, national and international transportation and storage
Maintain compliance with all local, state, DOT regulations
Support to internal teams, as needed
Weekend, overtime, and holiday work may be necessary; therefore, schedule flexibility is required
Other projects as assigned by Manager
Qualifications & Skills
Team Player, able to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented and dynamic environment
Demonstrated knowledge of installation, packing and art handling
Excellent communication and attention to detail to both clients and coworkers
Ability to problem solve and solution onsite issues with the experience to know when to escalate problems to supervisor
Valid driver's license; CDL license a bonus
Ability to push and pull 150 pounds on a dolly or cart, as well as 50 pounds without mechanical aid
Ability to carry 40 pounds of varying size and shape up to a distance of 90 feet
Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach overhead
Ability to be exposed to outside weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain and snow
Familiarity with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, jbars, dollies and other necessary warehouse equipment
Experience with rigging is preferred
This in-person position requires on-site presence at UOVO's Long Island City, NY facility five days a week with occasional requests to work nights and on weekends.
