Fork Truck Operator - Off Shift - Shipping Team $22.31 Hour to train plus shift differential
Opportunity summary: As Forklift Driver in our busy shipping bay or warehouse, you will be responsible for operating industrial forklift to track load and/or unload trucks for delivering the units to customers according to their requirements. You will also keep accurate tally of what is shipped to customers. We are a high-volume manufacturing plant, and you will be part of a team that loads up to 60 trailers a day. You will also be responsible for all activities associated with safely operating the forklift in addition to participating in cross training efforts and sharing duties with other drivers. Our forklift drivers may also operate our banding machines to ensure pallets are ready to load.
This is a union facility and we work 8-hour shifts, 12-hour shifts if OT is required. OT is paid at time and ½ for over 40 hours worked. Our plant is not climate controlled.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
Inspect the forklift daily at the start of the shift ensuring all safety features are operational. Complete checklist documenting inspection.
Safely track and move materials throughout the facility safely and efficiently
Responsible for the overall safety and cleanliness of the equipment and work area.
Assure all materials shipped and warehouse are handled in a manner that prevents damage
Load and unload trucks according to department standards and customer demands.
Use an RF scanner for receipts of returns or deliveries.
Verify all counts, quantities, quality and descriptions of products and materials received, shipped or warehouse are what is expected.
Service production lines, delivering products as requested.
Properly palletize or shrink wrap a unit.
Timely and accurate completion of paperwork associated with the movement of product & materials.
Responsible for general cleanliness of the warehouse and loading docks.
Perform regular inventory and cycle counts.
Safely change forklift propane tanks and/or batteries as needed.
Assist other departments as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
High School diploma or G.E.D. strongly preferred
Must have a valid driver's license
Previous forklift experience in a high volume high speed environment
Forklift driver certification valid during the last 12 months is highly valued, but we will teach you.

Ensures all human tissue is procured from FDA registered and AATB accredited Tissue Banks.
Responsible for ensuring Tissue Bank Tracking Information Card with all pertinent information is filled out correctly by clinical staff and is sent to corresponding vendor in timely manner.
Responsible for maintaining par/consignment levels of all asset inventory and raising/lowering par-levels of non-consigned inventory by monitoring how often an implant or type of implant is used over a specific timeframe.
Responsible for notifying manager of the need to raise or lower consigned inventory by preparing and presenting a usage report for an implant or type of implant.
OTHER DUTIES:
Work with the customers (e.g. Nursing) to identify any specific needs or concerns. Provide general customer service and coordinate with OR Materials Management to ensure proper and timely product and service delivery and/or to customize or develop programs to meet customer requests.

Responsibilities

Obtain truck helper's assistance in exiting the truck and follow his/her directions when backing up.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position works in a food manufacturing environment and requires the ability to adhere to all GMP, Food Safety, workplace safety and security policies including wearing required personal protective equipment, as well hair net, beard net, etc. as required. The Associate Warehouse Operations assists on Outbound activities as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor meeting quality, safety, productivity and operational standards. Inbound positions receive products into the facility and outbound ships products to customers.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Warehouse Material Handler II - Driver will be responsible for retrieving inventory from both floor locations and up-stock storage for Product Transfers and deliver to the designated area for stocking or shipment. The Restock Driver is required to operate machinery following all safety rules and regulations.

Monday - Friday (4:00AM- 12:30PM), Full-Time, Non -Exempt
WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Operate material handling equipment needed to perform primary role i.e; Forklift, Cherry Picker, Reach Truck, Stock Chaser (Cart), Pallet jack, Scanners, Tablets and Company WMS.
* Perform and complete daily safety inspection check list for all equipment used.
* Maintain productivity minimum requirements CPH, and work with a sense of urgency

In performing the job of a Restock Driver, the employee must stand and walk for an 8+ hour shift. Additionally, the position requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching and handling of items up to 50 lbs. Moderate Hand-Eye coordination, near vision, far vision and hearing is required for the operation of warehouse machinery.
