About the Role
The Project Engineer assists the product delivery team in performing focused tasks to support the construction lifecycle. The Project Engineer must be able to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and understand basic electrical and mechanical systems. They may be asked to focus on one or more of the following processes; generating a bill of material, preparing and reviewing submittals, soliciting quotes, performing basic quantity takeoffs, assembling PowerPoint presentations from multiple source documents, and printing, storing and retrieving design and engineering documents in the Document Management System.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to design, implement, and commission data center infrastructure projects.
Translate technical requirements into project plans, schematics, and documentation.
Ensure all work complies with design specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
Support the deployment of power (UPS, generators, PDUs), cooling (CRAC/CRAH, HVAC), and structured cabling systems.
Participate in capacity planning, risk analysis, and impact assessments for changes to the data center environment.
Monitor installation progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
Track project milestones, timelines, and budgets in coordination with project managers.
Prepare and present technical reports, updates, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Assist in vendor selection, procurement, and contractor supervision as needed.
Maintain detailed records of system designs, configurations, and installations.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, MechanicalEngineering, or a related technical field
3+ years of experience in data center engineering, construction, or operations
Strong understanding of mission-critical infrastructure (power, cooling, cabling, network)
Familiarity with data center design standards and best practices
Proficiency in project tools such as AutoCAD, MS Project, or similar
Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Preferred:
Certifications such as CDCP, DCDC, PMP, or equivalent
Experience with hyperscale or colocation environments
Working knowledge of commissioning processes and testing protocols

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Conduct on-aircraft system integration and validation testing.
Performs fluid dynamics, aircraft performance, and stability and control.
Research, implement, and evaluate software algorithms.
Must be able to independently design and execute bench, ground, and flight tests, and analyze and present results.
Design, execute, and present trade studies pertaining to data, software, and network architecture.
Contribute towards overall architecture and strategy for the advanced flight systems.
Collaboration with electrical and mechanicalengineering to achieve fully integrated systems will be required.
Experience with small multi-disciplinary teams is a plus.

Required Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree in Aerospace or MechanicalEngineering required.

Proficient with engineering drawings, CAD software, and engineering configuration management.
Strong communication skills: Be able to concisely document and explain workflows and design choices.

Comfortable in driving results under uncertainty during the earlier stages of development
Ability to work independently as well as part of a high functioning team
Distinguishing Education and/or Experience:
Advanced degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering.
Experience generating system and simulation models.
Experience troubleshooting and implementing solutions for aerodynamic challenges such as drag, cooling, stability and control, and slow speed handling.
Experience with developmental flight testing.
Experience with physics-based 6DOF simulations.
Experience with configuration and layout of new aircraft.
Development/operations of hardware-in-the-loop simulators, conducting testing and troubleshooting of HW/SW interfaces
Exposure to Part 23 and/or Part 25 federal regulations.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Provide mentorship and training to peers and junior-level engineers on design best practices, progressive die stamping fundamentals, product development process, supplier interface, solar field logistics, design optimization, and other topics as assigned
Set the standard for the knowledge base of design for progressive die stamping, and are accountable for complete engineering programs
Create design concepts using computer-aided design and analyze using finite element methods, forming simulation software, etc.
Oversee and define test plans for design validation testing
Interface with customers to understand needs and align with industry trends
Collaborate with service personnel to measure and improve upon assembly practices
Engage with suppliers to understand manufacturing capabilities and adjust designs accordingly
Develop standardized procedures for evaluation and approval of third-party tooling designs
Analyze components and systems for cost optimization and create should-cost models
Use fundamental principles of engineering to analyze system trends using spreadsheets and other tools

Participate in trials of solar system component installations (periodic travel when necessary)
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with minimum 10 years' industry experience in mechanicalengineering (or Masters' +8 years or PhD +4 years)
10+ years' experience in mechanical component design
10+ years' experience using commercial CAD modeling software
5+ years' experience using commercial structural finite element analysis software
3+ years' experience using stamping simulation software (Forming Suite, AutoForm, DynaForm, etc.)
Sound understanding of fundamental engineering principles of statics, dynamics, and energy
Demonstrated self-direction on projects and engineering tasks
Ability to drive and manage change with designs, programs, and processes
Experience communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred qualifications:
