Additionally, this role is required to attend site visits. During site visits, there may be exposure to a variety of environmental conditions, such as being outdoors, being in indoor non-temperature-controlled environments, and maneuvering into tight spaces to scan existing electrical power and lighting systems. During site visits, you will work long days (10-12 hours) to complete 3d scanning jobs at client locations. These are typically week-long trips and happen 3- 4x per calendar year. Physical Demands Sitting/Standing: This role is generally sedentary performing sitting work utilizing technological office equipment including a laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, scanners, copiers, and fax machines. Walking: This role requires the ability to move about inside the office to access technological equipment required for the role. During site visits, this role requires the ability to traverse various project sites and buildings that will have uneven surfaces. Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: This role may require stooping to reload printer trays with print paper. During site visits, this role requires the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to set up scanning devices that will scan an existing structures heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and piping systems. Using Hands/Fingers: This role constantly operates technological office equipment such as laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, and scanners, copiers, and fax machines. Talking/Hearing: This role requires constant communication with others in the organization to exchange information, review information, and make decisions about information. We are looking for an intern to join the Mechanical Engineering team in our Muskegon, Michigan production office for the SUMMER of 2026. You will be given the opportunity to apply your educational learning with real-world experience through supporting teamwork with Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers and Architects with projects in the built environment. You will develop communication skills, professional protocols and ethics, problem solving, design and detailing skills. You will be assisting with the preparation of designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings. You will assist with the evaluation, selection and application of standard engineering techniques in the design and selection of HVAC systems in buildings. Exposure to project management and construction administration will be provided to aid in your understanding of the entire project delivery process. You will build upon AutoCAD and BIM software skills to assist collaboratively with client and production requirements. Interviews for this position will begin in January 2026.
