Work Environment

Travel may be necessary towards the end of the year if required.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Serve as project leader and subject matter expert for the water-cooling loops, the Hydrogen Recombiner and Ion Harvesting systems, providing strategic oversight of operations and maintenance. Ensure continuous system reliability through leadership of 24/7/365 operational support, advanced troubleshooting, and resolution of complex technical challenges.
Ensure operational continuity by providing technical leadership for 24/7 system availability. Maintains readiness to respond to critical incidents and coordinates emergency resolution efforts, including off-shift interventions when required.
Produce and document effective design solutions by developing concepts, performing engineering calculations, and creating CAD design/details of water pumping piping systems.
Perform advanced modeling and simulation of thermal loads, heat budgets, and hydraulic systems to optimize performance and reliability. Provide technical input for test verification and validation activities.
Direct and review complex repairs, modifications, and performance testing of process control systems and major components, including pumps, valves, and heat exchangers, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and operational integrity.

We are looking for a Packaging Engineer to work with Research & Development to research, trial and develop packaging structures for the Battle Creek Facility. This position also provides support on external and internal issues related to Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Serivce. Successful Packaging Engineers are customer service oriented and work on projects which optimize packaging and bring sustainable products to the marketplace.
This position is currently open and reflects a replacement position due to an internal transfer, promotion, or departure.
The salary range for this position is $68,000 to $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity. This range is provided to ensure clarity and promote equitable access to employment opportunities.
Responsibilities
When your actions lead to success:
• Work collaboratively with Corporate R&D Engineers to optimize or develop products and improve cost performance initiatives with existing and new customers.
• Document, coordinate and conduct trials for products that improve internal and external projects or initiatives.
• Establish and audit internal and external product and process specifications.
• Provide technical support to customers as required.
• Coordinate onsite customer visits.
• Utilize all resources available to problem solve issues.
• Develop and conduct training and participate in internal/external training as appropriate.
• Manage Development Projects in accordance with the Design Control Policy and Procedures.
• Participate in Stage Gate Project reviews and follow up promptly on any assigned action items.
• Work collaboratively with their team on any special projects as assigned.
• Co-manage the SQC Pack software program.
• Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated project and time management experience.
• Knowledge of printing/converting/flexible packaging industry.
• Knowledge of quality methods/testing and SPC.
• Working knowledge of problem-solving methodologies.

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office operation systems
