This Engineering position is responsible for developing complex designs in conformance
with Ingersoll design standards and customer or marketing specifications.
Responsibilities include participation in the development of engineering standards,
design specifications for marketing activities and complex project design assignments.
Communications with customers and functional organizations within the company is an
important aspect of this position. Engineers in this position must have strong design
capabilities coupled with an ability to achieve schedule, budget and quality objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop new designs to meet customer or marketing specifications.
Works with supervision to maintain project schedules and budgets.
Documents designs using the appropriate format to Ingersoll and/or customer
standards.
Provides assistance to other functional organizations; manufacturing, assembly,
customer service, through the life of the project.
May have responsibility for testing and validation of design.
Develop specifications for purchased equipment.
Prepare Bill of Materials and ENOC's.
Maintains technical competency and works to expand technical skills and
knowledge.
Approve detailed drawings produced by peers.
Some travel is required for this position.

Skills:
Must have strong mechanical design skills with an ability to read and layout
mechanical drawings.
A broad knowledge of mechanical systems is a must.
Must have a good understanding of basic machine tool design.
Experience drawing complex mechanical assemblies strongly preferred.
Experience with CAD systems is required with knowledge of 3D Solid Modeling
desired; CATIA experience preferred.
Must be familiar with geometric dimensioning and tolerance per ANSI Y14.5.
Should have strong mathematical skills, including at a minimum, algebra,

A general understanding of Finite Element Analysis techniques is desirable.
A general knowledge of Ingersoll's CAE tools is desirable.
Education:

As an integral member of a cross-functional team, collaborate with Project Engineering, Industrial Design, and Factory Engineering to design and develop new fitness products. Perform a variety of technical assignments to support various projects through the Innovation and New Product Development (NPD) processes. Responsibilities:
Personnel:
· Work with Design Engineers, Industrial Design, Factory Engineer, and other members of the product development team to translate customer requirements into engineering product specifications.

Product Development:
· Create CAD models and drawings for components and assemblies for products from prototype phases through production.
