Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a senior MechanicalEngineer to support our work as a prime contractor on high-profile U.S Navy weapon systems. This mechanicalengineering position will support the Navy Program Manager responsible for Strategic Systems Planning (SSP) Facilities Acquisition at TRIDENT Submarine Bases, primarily at Kings Bay, Georgia and Bangor, Washington. This engineering candidate is responsible for the development of conceptual HVAC and plumbing designs, Bill of Materials for mechanical equipment, and conceptual mechanical spaces layout. The selected candidate will perform technical peer reviews of architectural/engineeringdesign submittals, lead the develop of unique SSP facility requirements & testing criteria, and perform constructability reviews of A/E produced design documentation. Candidate will also provide input and assist in the development of engineering study reports and help coordinate and resolve facility design/integration issues.
The position will lead the development of comprehensive MILCON documentation (DD1391 forms, equipment estimates, & facility layouts) and the mechanical (HVAC & plumbing) portion of preliminary construction cost estimates. The position will also engage in working with subcontractors for input and review of scopes of work and review of site studies.
The position will lead the mechanicaldesign development of SSP facility requirements for construction documentation to ensure the constructed facility performs the necessary function of mission. A limited amount of travel to off-site locations will be required on an as needed basis to support studies and design meetings.
The position will require generating correspondence to internal/external customers, other BAE sector government property administrators, and other architectural/engineering personnel.
The candidate will be required to manage and/or support other disciple tasks as needed. This position must also work with and support corporate Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) personnel to maintain a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.
The candidate will be required to maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914

How You'll Contribute:
The Senior ESS DesignEngineer (DE) is a member of the Project Engineering Electronic Security Systems (ESS) team and a lead engineer to Federal and Non-Federal design projects. The DE will provide support through the design project life cycle from sales concept to design development, construction drawings to construction administration support. As a technical resource on a project team, you will be instrumental in the determination and execution of client and system requirements and will collaborate with support teams to bring your design to life. The DE will be supported and mentored by Solutions Architects and Director of Engineering. DE will maintain both primary and supportive roles on complex ESS projects through direction of the Director of ESS Engineering.
This role shapes the technical foundation and delivery quality of Diversified's ESS practice. Decisions made in this role define engineering standards, drive continuous improvement, and influence the company's ability to scale and maintain high-quality ESS solutions across regions. Decisions made by this role impact the Engineering, Field Services, and Project Management teams, with a primary focus on the design, deployment, and support of ESS solutions. This role makes strategic and decisions related to technical standards, process improvements, team structure, vendor engagement, and quality assurance. What You'll Do:
Contributor for complex engagements and works directly with clients and the DesignEngineering team to develop specifications, designs, budgets, timelines and manage expectations.
Ability to speak to Federal Security System standards such as FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) and FICAM (Federal Identity, Credential, and Access Management).
Strong understanding and experience implementing design standards based around UL2050 and ICD 705.
Conceptualize system designs and determine system requirements.
Provide technical expertise and coordination information to support the architecture, installation and planning of electronic security solutions.
Develop ESS project estimates and proposals.
Develop the Bill of Materials (BOM) and support documentation.
Develop detailed 30%, 60%, 90%, 100% IFC, and/or Shop Drawings.
Research, identify, and recommend technology options for clients.
DE may have client interaction and contribute to the P and L performance.
Strong understanding of Internal and External project lifecycles.
