Collaborate with internal and external facilities to validate design performance against defined specifications. Engineering Analysis: Perform calculations to support CapEx return on investment decisions. Material Selection and Development: Choosing the right material for a specific application, considering factors like strength, durability, cost and environmental impact. Documentation and Compliance: Create, review, and maintain technical drawings, specifications, and product documentation using a mix of CAD (SolidWorks preferred), MS Word, and digital images. Ensure designs and processes meet industry and regulatory standards, including internal engineering standards and product definition procedures. Continuous Improvement: Apply problem-solving skills to identify areas of improvement in existing designs or manufacturing processes, making recommendations and providing solutions to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Failure Analysis: Ability to assist QA Department with technical support for internal and external CARs. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Mathematical and Analytical Skills: Strong ability to apply engineering fundamentals, and statistical methods to create innovative, reliable, cost effective design solutions that translate into more design wins. Design Skills: Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory, magnetic circuit design, and magnetic material properties. Analog Circuit Design: Working understanding of analog and digital electronics, signal integrity, power and thermal management is a plus. Simulation experience with LTspice or similar is a plus. Problem Solving and Innovation: Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills with the ability to propose innovative and creative solutions to complex design challenges. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders for internal and external customers. Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across teams. Bilingual in English and Spanish is beneficial. Adaptability: Ability to work on several projects at once and shift priorities as needed to meet company goals Attention to detail: High attention to detail with the ability to conduct rigorous reviews of designs, calculations, and test procedures to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. Printed Circuit Board Design: Ability to design and convert schematics into PCB layout drawings using OrCAD, Mentor, Altium, or similar is a plus. As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers and operations leaders to bring ideas from concept to implementation. This position combines CAD drafting, facility layout refinement, and hands-on technical exposure to help expand and optimize our operations. You will gain valuable experience and hands-on learning while contributing to meaningful improvements in the company. Responsibilities: Create and refine high-quality CAD drawings, including architectural layouts, elevations, P&IDs, and mechanical assemblies Maintain clear and accurate drawing revision control Visit and assess current facilities to gather information for design Develop familiarity with existing facility layouts, drawings, and utility systems Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn Strong sense of ownership and personal accountability Clear written and verbal communication skills Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Architectural Engineering 0-2 years of relevant experience Working knowledge of 2D/3D CAD drafting and modeling Able to lift 50 lbs Must comply with GMP requirements; specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and on the job training Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish) Ability to work in a physically challenging environment, including bending, twisting, and standing for up to 8 hours Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with GMP, manufacturing, or packaging environments a plus Working knowledge of AutoCAD LT drafting best practices and layer management Working knowledge of Fusion 360 modelling and drafting Basic knowledge of facility utility systems (HVAC, compressed air, dust collection, etc.) Understanding of tolerancing (ASME B4.1), GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and tolerance stack-up calculation Familiarity with electrical and pneumatic systems Exposure to machining, welding, and plastic component design Experience with inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges) Working knowledge of 3D printing (Prusa) We proudly offer: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with Company Match, Pet insurance and more!
