**Responsibilities**
The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing complex laboratory tests on patient specimens to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. This individual must demonstrate precision, analytical thinking, and a strong understanding of laboratory science and technology. The individual performs diagnostic testing on blood, tissue, and other bodily fluids; operates and maintains laboratory equipment; analyzes test results and reports findings to physicians and other healthcare providers; ensures quality control and compliance with safety protocols; maintains accurate patient records and laboratory documentation; collaborates with healthcare professionals to interpret results and support patient care.

The Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist plays a critical role in performing, reviewing, and reporting clinical diagnostic tests to aid our providers- urologists, medical oncologists, pathologists, and APPs in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of disease. Working directly under the supervision of the Laboratory Operations Manager, the Medical Technologist is responsible for clinical chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, and molecular testing, which includes FISH testing. The responsibilities include laboratory training, equipment maintenance, quality control, quality assurance, and calibrations. The individual will ensure the timely processing and handling of specimens and ensure performance metrics, such as turnaround times, are met.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
· Assists the Laboratory Operations Manager and/or Quality Specialists and Lead Medical Technologist in meeting regulatory agency requirements (CLIA, CAP, etc.).
· Performs clinical chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, and molecular/FISH testing, and provides coverage in these areas as needed by the operation.
· Verifies, records, and reports results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
· Operates laboratory equipment and performs quality control (QC) procedures, instrument maintenance, calibration, and proficiency testing (PT) according to established laboratory protocol and manufacturer and regulatory requirements.
· Performs, evaluates, and reports QC, and identifies and resolves any QC failures.
· Investigates, documents, and resolves any specimen integrity or quality issues (pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical).
· Prepares FISH slides for testing, evaluates the slides on FISH equipment for adequate cellularity, and reports out FISH results to the pathologist's following manufacturer and laboratory protocols.
· Accurately reports out FISH findings, including uploading the reports to the LIS and manages the storage of FISH QC and patient slides.
· Troubleshoots and resolves instrumentation malfunctions and works with vendors on resolving instrument issues accordingly.
· Centrifuges and aliquots specimens based on testing specifications.
· Maintains meticulous records of specimens, procedures, and results.
· Ensures proper labeling, tracking, and documentation of samples.
· Monitors supplies and maintains adequate inventory levels.
· Properly disposes of chemical hazardous waste according to laboratory and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree and completion of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) Accredited Certificate Program is required and will be verified prior to employment.

General Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Materials Lab Technician to join our materials testing team. This position provides hands-on experience in laboratory and field testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete for construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field to gain practical knowledge and industry experience. The ideal candidate has ACI Concrete Strength, ATTI Soils, and/or ATTI Asphalt certification(s). If not certified, we will train the right candidate who is highly motivated.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform laboratory tests on soils, including moisture content, Atterberg limits, and compaction testing.
Test aggregates for gradation, specific gravity, absorption, and cleanliness.
Assist with testing asphalt materials for binder content, gradation, compaction, and stability (Marshall or Superpave methods).
Conduct tests on concrete, including slump, air content, unit weight, and compressive strength of cylinders.
Record, compile, and summarize data accurately in compliance with industry standards (ASTM, AASHTO).
Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment.
Assist senior technicians and engineers with project support as needed.
Education, Licenses and Experience:
Enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Materials Science, or a related field.
Strong interest in materials testing and quality control.
Ability to lift and move materials/equipment up to 50 lbs.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Basic understanding of construction materials and laboratory testing is a plus.
Valid driver's license (if fieldwork is required).

Indoors, outdoors, extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, outdoor, sun exposure

Teaching may occur during day, afternoon and/or evening. If courses are available, adjuncts may continue to teach future semesters. The adjunct faculty are primarily responsible for teaching assigned courses, while maintaining programmatic and accreditation standards. Adjunct faculty must adhere to instructional syllabi, support student success, and maintain access for students during office hours. Minimum Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
1. Associate degree from a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited
program.
2. Current ASCP certification as a medical laboratory scientist or medical laboratory technician.
3. Minimum of three (3) years full-time clinical experience as a medical laboratory scientist or medical laboratory technician.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Strong analyzing and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong organizing and prioritizing skills to meet critical deadlines.
8. Strong multi-tasking and decision-making skills.
