About the Position
In this full-time role you will join an innovative team in a state-of-the-art WASP (Walk Away Specimen Processing) lab, where automation and technology enhance accuracy and efficiency. The right candidate will be a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Lab Technician specializing in Microbiology to perform advanced microbiological testing and analysis. For those dedicated to providing excellent patient care, there are plenty of opportunities to grow in your profession.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of microbiological tests, including culture and sensitivity testing, molecular diagnostics, serology, and microscopic examination.
Identify and classify bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites using advanced microbiological techniques.
Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
Ensure accuracy and precision in test results through meticulous quality control procedures.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to laboratory equipment and test procedures.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss test results and their implications for patient care.
Provide technical support and expertise to other laboratory staff and trainees.
Develop and modifies procedures as needed.
Establish and monitor programs, to ensure the accuracy of tests.
Participate in all aspects of proficiency testing.
Understand and adhere to HIPAA policies, procedures and regulations to assure patient confidentiality.
Perform administrative duties including excellent customer service to all patients, clients and employees.
Attend work regularly and on time.
Maintain meticulous records of lab activities and test results.
Provide strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to details

Minimum Job Requirements
Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.

Pay Range: $27.00 - $37.00 hourly
All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:30 am to 6:30 pm overtime and rotating weekends may be required

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a Life Science or Medical Technology
1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience is required for Technologist
ASCP or AMT certification required
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus
High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
Strong Hematology background and experience is preferred
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
Assist with processing of specimens when needed
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

ABOUT THE POSITION
This full-time, Hematology focused position is based in the client's primary reference lab in Pendleton, OR, working alongside a large team of skilled professionals in Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Banking, Immunology, Microbiology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Master Hematology: Perform high-complexity tests, including blood cell counts, coagulation tests, urinalysis, and body fluid analysis.
Ensure Accuracy: Analyze and interpret results with precision, ensuring rapid and reliable reporting to healthcare providers.
Operate Advanced Equipment: Work with cutting-edge lab instruments, maintaining compliance with industry standards.
Quality & Compliance: Participate in quality control, proficiency testing, and assurance programs to uphold top-tier laboratory practices.
Collaborate & Grow: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, continuously expanding your skills and expertise in a fast-paced clinical lab.
