Job Description: Iowa State University is seeking a detail-oriented (MLT) Medical Laboratory Technician to support diagnostic testing services in the College of Veterinary Medicine. This position plays a vital role in performing diagnostic tests across various species, ensuring quality control, and assisting in training future veterinary professionals in a clinical and research laboratory environment. If you're looking to get into animal diagnostics, this is your opportunity - no prior animal experience is required, and we will provide full training on the veterinary side. Key Responsibilities: * Perform diagnostic testing, including hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, and cytology, on multi-species samples. * Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and analyzers. * Manage blood banking and coagulation procedures. * Enter and review test data in the Laboratory Information System (LIS). * Train students, residents, and new staff on lab procedures and equipment. * Conduct quality control checks and routine instrument maintenance. * Maintain lab inventory, organize referral test submissions, and update lab records. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
