We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our laboratory team in Boca Raton, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic tests in Alzheimer's Disease (AD)in a CLIA-certified laboratory, focusing on immunoassays, molecular tests, and operating automated analyzers. You will play a key role in performing complex laboratory procedures to ensure accurate and timely test results. This position is an on-site role and can be part-time or full-time. This position is a unique opportunity to contribute to innovation in the diagnosis and management of AD, using blood-based biomarkers.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform Molecular Diagnostic Tests: Execute molecular diagnostics techniques, ensuring precision and compliance with established protocols.
Perform Immunoassay Testing: Use and operate immunoassay analyzers for testing blood-based biomarkers for management of AD.
Operate Automated Analyzers: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot high-throughput automated analyzers used in molecular, immunoassay, and chemistry for clinical diagnostics to ensure continuous workflow and accurate results.
Sample Preparation & Analysis: Prepare and process clinical specimens for molecular testing, immunoassay, chemistry, and other clinical lab tests, following standard operating procedures (SOPs) for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases.
Quality Control & Assurance: Conduct routine quality control procedures, including calibration and verification of laboratory instruments. Ensure all testing meets internal and regulatory quality standards.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze test results and record findings accurately in laboratory information systems (LIS). Provide reports to physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed.
Data Entry: Enter results and data into lab system or other software with accuracy
Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), Troubleshoot issues with analyzers, immunoassay kits, and other lab equipment to prevent downtime and ensure high-performance operation.
Inventory & Reagents Management: Monitor inventory levels for reagents and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and restocking. Validate reagent performance before use in diagnostic tests.
Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all laboratory safety guidelines, infection control policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP, OSHA). Participate in regular inspections and ensure readiness for audits.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on new technologies, methodologies, and advancements in clinical lab diagnostics. Participate in professional development and training sessions.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field. (Minimum)
Board certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP), or equivalent certification, required
Hold a valid licence from the Florida Department of Health through the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory, with hands-on experience in immunoassays, molecular and automated analyzers required. Experience with high-throughput diagnostic environments is a plus.
Must have a Florida license for Clinical Chemistry
Skills & Competencies:
Expertise in molecular diagnostic techniques, immunoassays, and other automated analyzers.
Proficient in the operation, calibration, and troubleshooting of automated analyzers.
Strong understanding of laboratory quality control procedures and regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Distribute prescribed medication to residents and maintains related medical records under supervision of the Resident Wellness Director and maintains compliance with the RIGHTS of medication
Presents medication to resident as required by the MOR and observes ingestion or other application, or assists in the administration of medication, using specified procedures
Takes vital signs or observes resident to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report or notifies designated personnel of unexpected reactions
Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered, held, changed, disposed of, discontinued or returned on the MOR
Review and participate in 24 Hour Reports, Daily Logs, Shift Cross-over Reports and verbal reports as needed
Monitors medications to ensure adequate accountability measures are taken when medications are ordered, received into the community, administered and at change of shift as required by policy and procedures
Respects the resident's rights regarding medication
Notifies the Wellness Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) or Resident Wellness Director (Director of Nursing) of unauthorized medication held by the resident
Seeks advice from the Wellness Nurse or Resident Wellness Director prior to administering any medication that does not seem correct
Understands and can explain the medication dosage/pharmacology when necessary
Refrains from giving any PRN medications as required by law (if applicable by state)
Complete incident and accident reports and documentation timely
Report changes in resident condition to RWD or Nurse designee immediately
Refrains from providing any treatment that does not fall under their specific licensing
Assist residents with their personal care and activities of daily living as assigned and as requested by residents
Perform daily housekeeping tasks as assigned using established procedures and standards
Respond to resident emergency calls
Assure that established infection control practices are maintained
Report all hazardous conditions and equipment to the supervisor
Assure the equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of each shift

The Tango Optimo is the blood bank instrument in use
Their Laboratory Information system is Sunquest.
The testing done includes ABO, Rh, Antibody screen, crossmatch, antigen typing, antibody ID.
The blood bank issues more than 50 units a day and receives approximately 75 specimens per day. The transfusion service primarily supports an active surgical service as well as an oncology clinic.
The tech does flex to cover stat serology testing such as flu, mono, RSV, Rotavirus, bacterial antigens on CSF, and rapid MRSA screen using Cepheid GeneXpert.
Expected to complete Quality Control requirements of the section.
Expected to perform routine and corrective maintenance on equipment.

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented MedicationTechnician to join our team. The MedicationTechnician will be responsible for assisting residents with medication management, administering medications as prescribed, and monitoring residents for any adverse reactions or side effects. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist residents with medication management, including assistance with self-administering medications as prescribed and ensuring that residents take the correct dosage at the appropriate times.
Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications and report any concerns to the appropriate Supervisor
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of assistance with medications and any changes in residents' medication regimens
Communicate with residents, family members, and healthcare providers to ensure that residents' medication needs are being met effectively with the wellness coordinator.
Assist with maintaining the medication cart and ensuring that medications are properly stored and secured
Follow all safety protocols and procedures for medication administration to minimize the risk of errors or accidents
Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Completion of assistance with self-administration MedicationTechnician training program
Previous experience working in a healthcare or assisted living setting (preferred)

Job Summary
Clinical Laboratory Assistants (CLAs) perform duties in the laboratory that are above the complexity level of a phlebotomist, but not yet to the level of a medical laboratory technician
They are to collect specimens, do specimen processing, perform limited waived laboratory testing, assist technicians and technologists with maintenance and reagent preparation, plate samples for microbiology, and perform preparation of specimens for testing from alternative laboratory sources
Essential Functions
Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with nursing station log, bringing discrepancies to the attention of unit personnel
Verifies patient by reading patient identification. Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and fingersticks
Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures, observing isolation procedures
Collects therapeutic drug-monitoring assays by collaborating with nursing personnel to ensure appropriate drug dose to collection time
Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection; maintaining daily tallies of collections performed
Maintains quality results by following department procedures and testing schedule; recording results in the quality-control log; identifying and reporting needed changes
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
Resolves unusual test orders by contacting the physician, pathologist, nursing station, or laboratory testing personnel; referring unresolved orders back to the originator for further clarification; notifying supervisor of unresolved orders
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and TJC standards
Enhances phlebotomy department and hospital reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Assists with laboratory clerical work. Answers phones, receives specimens and performs preanalytical preparation for samples including send-outs
Coordinates and actively enhances laboratory workflow by loading instruments, setting up plates, and performing waived testing per laboratory procedures. Performs pending log resolution. Calls critical values to actionable care providers
