The primary responsibility of the Cath Lab Tech is to provide assistance with patient care in the cardiac catheterization lab (CCL) through the provision of technical assistance to the cardiac catheterization team.
Provides direct, safe, competent and quality patient care in the Interventional Cardiology department.
Assists in the performance of various invasive cardiac or peripheral vascular diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Sustains a high level of patient care by communication with the patients, families, and physicians and co-works to address the physical, general and psychosocial needs of the patient.
Functions under the direction and immediate supervision of the cardiologist/radiologist performing the procedure.
Assists cardiologist during procedures by operating ancillary equipment, anticipating and obtaining catheters, wires and other necessary inventory and medications as ordered.
Assure compliance with federal, state, and local technical and professional regulations and accepted practiced guidelines.
Delivers quality, cost-effective patient care in a professional manner.
Works effectively to maintain an environment of excellence, which is patient-focused, providing timely, compassionate, quality patient care.
Promotes and maintains a safe work environment for both staff and customers, incorporating national patient safety initiatives.
Prepare and update patient records accurately and legibly.

The Clinical Lab Technologist position will be responsible for processing medically relevant biological samples through extraction and/or high throughput next-generation DNA sequencing assays. This role will work within a team of Laboratorians in a fast-paced, high production setting to process research and clinical diagnostic samples to provide test results to patients, oncologists and other medical practitioners and researchers. Position Summary:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Function with an awareness and application of safety procedures.
Apply an awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strive to manage situations in a reduced risk manner.
Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant others' rights, as identified within the MTF.
Exercise appropriate delegation of tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members, patient care, and
clinic activities.
Be able to comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, Department of Defense, Department of Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and MTF instructions and policies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Possess and maintain one of the following: A current certification and registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (MLT-ASCP); OR current certification and registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the American
Medical Technologists (MLT-AMT).
HCW shall be in good standing and under no sanction or suspension by the Federal Government.
Possess and maintain current certification in either the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course.
Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently and maintain good communication skills with patients and other health care personnel.
Ability to pass all background/suitability checks.
A valid driver's license: ability to travel locally as needed.
Min. Citizenship Status Required: U.S Citizenship.
LOCATION: Iwakuni, Japan or Yokosuka, Japan
