Job Summary: The Licensed Clinical Counselor in Counseling Services provides individual counseling, consultation and crisis intervention services to students and collaborates with staff/faculty regarding students of concern, along with promoting and offering programs and services that support health and wellness on campus. The clinician is an active member of the division of Student Affairs, creating opportunity for programming partnerships and invaluable professional connections. Essential Functions: Work in an uplifting and balanced environment that promotes student wellness. Provide comprehensive individual and/or group counseling services to students. Refer, consult, and coordinate with community resources regarding psycho social needs of students when appropriate. Clinician will utilize DAP notes that are finalized within 72hours. Complete comprehensive psycho social assessments of students. Participate in assessment and service evaluation activities. Respond promptly and effectively to crisis situations on campus, offering immediate support and resources to students in distress, collaborating with campus partners to ensure a coordinated and compassionate response. Provide educational, developmental and prevention outreach programming for students to increase awareness of mental health issues/ prevention and promote healthy choices. Participate in training of student leaders. Consult and collaborate with counseling services counselors and other campus staff and faculty when appropriate. Demonstrate knowledge of current legal responsibilities to report individuals at risk of harm to self/others and to maintain strict informational boundaries. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of state and federal health care privacy laws, Title IX, VAWA, ADA, Title II, HIPAA and FERPA, as well as professional ethics or regulations that govern the work. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with emerging trends and best practices in higher education counseling, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the counseling center. Be available for emergency calls by the Dean and/or Assistant Dean for Student Life / Well-being, Director of Residential Life and Area Coordinators, as needed. Perform job duties in accordance with Columbia College's vision, mission and values, and contributes to the development of the Division of Student Affairs. Serve on division and college committees as requested Attend major college functions, including but not limited to Homecoming, Quest Day and College Visitation events, Ivy Chain, Commencement, Late Night Breakfast, and Student Affairs Night of Recognition.
