Responsibilities

Reporting to the Deaf Mentor Coordinator the areas of responsibility is to provide parent education the the Deaf Mentor Program in the conjunction with the Early Learning Program and Arizona Early Intervention Program as mandated by Part C (0-3) of the Individuals with Disability Education Act.
This position requires the provision of sensitive and effective communication with families according to individual family needs recognizing the diverse cultures and language backgrounds that are served by the program. The Mentors will develop and maintain quality and meaningful relationships with mentees for up to 12 months. The CORE Wellness Mentor position is a key role in the Community Wellness Center focusing on providing an array of Peer services and engagement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The CORE Program Specialist delivers high quality peer support and recovery focused services that uphold the principles of dignity, autonomy, and community connection. Core responsibilities include:
Provide peer support through group facilitation and culturally relevant, educational, social, recreational, and vocational activities.
Promote the foundational principles of recovery including hope, empowerment, respect, social connection, self responsibility, and self determination.
Offer navigation support including information, referrals, and linkages to mental health services, community resources, and broader health systems.
Integrate wellness and recovery principles into all interactions and service delivery.
Engage participants in identifying and accessing community based supports that strengthen stability and wellness.
