    Full-time Description The Liberty County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for Deputy Sheriff - School Resource Office. This position is responsible for enforcing local, state, and federal laws and providing services to the general public in and around schools, as well as other facilities belonging to the Board of Education. MAJOR DUTIES 1. Performs specialized patrols for the school board at assigned school; enforces school rules in addition to applicable federal, state, and local laws. 2. Patrols school property for drug-related activities, gang-related activities, alcohol-related activities, truancy problems, improperly parked vehicles; conducts lighting surveys; addresses repetitive behavioral problems; follows up on non-major felony investigations and crimes. 3. Attends school functions as security official while providing liaison duties between the affected school and the Liberty County Sheriff's Office. 4. Prepares and presents lessons for students, teachers, staff, and parents on school safety, bicycle safety, and other law enforcement-related topics. 5. Performs all tasks of a Deputy Sheriff as required. 6. Enforces traffic laws; issues warnings and citations. 7. Responds to calls for service. 8. Identifies, pursues, and arrests suspects and perpetrators of criminal acts. 9. Prepares required reports. 10. Investigates automobile accidents; prepares accident reports. 11.
