* U.S. citizenship is required. U.S. citizens are legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship and are entitled to all rights and protections under U.S. law.

* Candidates are required to complete an intensive 13-week training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA, followed by specialized 18-week training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD. Failure to pass the training program may result in separation from the Secret Service.
* Sign a mobility agreement stating your willingness to accept assignments anywhere within the United States and overseas.
* Certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so, if you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959.
* Must have uncorrected vision of at least 20/100, correctable to 20/20 in each eye. LASIK, ALK, RK, and PRK surgeries are acceptable if required post-surgery visual tests are passed: Lasik (3 months), PRK (6 months), ALK/RK (1 year) waiting periods apply.
* Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500,1000 and 2000Hz ranges.
Qualifications

* Have at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GL-9 level such as experience in, or related to planning and conducting complex criminal investigations to determine violations of Federal laws and regulations; collecting and assembling facts to identify logical conclusion; gathering, analyzing, and evaluating evidence or data; conducting interviews and interrogations; making arrests; conducting searches and seizures; taking responsibility for own actions and those of team members to ensure the goals and deadlines for the team are met; partnering with or leveraging networks or relationships from outside the organization, experience managing complex projects including setting priorities and determining resource requirements; OR
* A combination of specialized experience, as described above, and related graduate level education beyond two full years of graduate level study.

As part of the application process the applicant will be required to complete the United States Secret Service Applicant Physical Abilities Test (APAT). It is a physical fitness assessment which consists of four components (push-ups, sit-ups, Illinois Agility Run and a 1.5 Mile Run). The APAT is designed to measure the current level of general physical fitness of an applicant, which serves as an indicator of an applicant's ability to safely complete a vigorous physical training program. It evaluates the applicant's ability to perform the physical tasks required on the job by measuring muscular and dynamic strength, endurance, flexibility, aerobic capacity and other factors related to physical aptitude. General Medical Requirements: As determined by OPM the duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of fingers, wrist, elbows, shoulders, hips and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs and feet must function sufficiently in order for applicants to perform the duties satisfactorily.
Additional information
* Recruitment Incentive: Applicants may be eligible for a $40,000 recruitment incentive in accordance with regulatory requirements. The first installment of $15,000 will be paid following successful completion of Secret Service Criminal Investigator training. A second installment of $10,000 will be paid following one year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. The final installment of $15,000 will be paid after a third year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. Provision of these payments require the execution of a three-year Continued Service Agreement (CSA) with the agency. Newly hired employees who resign from the USSS prior to the expiration of the CSA will be required to repay the recruitment incentive. (NOTE: Eligibility is limited to "Newly appointed" Federal employees as defined by 5 CFR 575.102).
Applicants selected for this position will be required to sign a CSA before being assigned to an initial training class. The CSA will commit the applicant to a specified period of employment with the Secret Service upon the successful completion of training.
Applicants will be required to travel to all phases of the hiring process at their own expense. If a final job offer is extended, relocation expenses will not be authorized for first duty location.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Court Security Officer (CSO) Recruits of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office are hired to attend training to become a Certified Court Security Officer in the State of Kentucky. CSOs in the Courts Division provide security for participants of Circuit and District Courts of Jefferson County. CSOs take custody of inmates while in the Courts and during transport throughout Kentucky. In accordance with KRS 70.280, CSOs only have law enforcement powers on courthouse grounds and during transport of inmates to facilities in Kentucky.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire.

Must have high school diploma or equivalent
Must have honorable discharge from military, if applicable
Must not have had peace officer status revoked in any state

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Monitors radio, pager, and phones for calls for service and responds to aircraft, structural, HAZMAT, EMS, law enforcement, and all other requests as directed.
Proactively patrols the airport providing public safety visibility and takes appropriate action when needed.
Conducts training as determined by department leadership on subjects in all disciplines, including law enforcement, firefighting, EMS, and FAA Part 139.
Performs facility, equipment, and vehicle checks and maintenance to assure facilities, equipment, and vehicles are fully functional.
Conducts investigations of alleged or suspected criminal activity on airport property and takes appropriate action to close the case.
Maintains proficiency in public safety duties, including law enforcement and ARFF functions.
Ability to learn and understand FAR Part 139, TSR Part 1542, KY Penal Code, and all other applicable federal, state, and local rules, regulations, standards, and requirements for aviation public safety.
Ability to learn and understand the practices and principles of airport administration, operations, security, and public safety.
Good English language skills, including speaking, spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Must have the ability to prepare and deliver effective oral and written reports and presentations.
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with airport tenants, employees, stakeholders, and guests providing a high level of customer service in response to questions and inquiries.
Under supervision, a Public Safety Officer II is expected to:
Coordinate public safety operations during assigned shift, ensuring the safety and security of the public, tenants, and staff.
Ensure that all airport operations comply with FAR Part 139, TSR Part 1542, Airport Security Program (ASP), LRAA Rules and Regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local statutes and regulations.
Conduct identification media checks and audits, complete checks of physical security access points, maintain random patrols of security areas, and assist Airport Operations as requested.
Respond to security related incidents upon request and properly document the occurrence, notify Airport Operations, and impose the proper penalty for the offense.
QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING Certification as a State Peace Officer (POPS) by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council with at least two years of full-time experience. Kentucky EMT certification is desirable. No prior criminal history.

• Assists with campus crisis situations, with building evacuations, drills, etc. as needed and monitors parking facilities, insuring only authorized vehicles parked in restricted areas; issues citations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School/GED and one year of Security or related work experience (other Security, Corrections, Police, Fire, EMS, or Military). Strong written and verbal skills are necessary. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applications is preferred. Candidates must have a valid driver's license.

JOB SUMMARY:
Community Response Officers will patrol and monitor an assigned area on bike and foot to report any suspicious activities to local authorities. Key Responsibilities:
· Patrols properties, verifies access, and monitors to maintain safety and security
· Provides a strong security presence to deter criminal activity, enforce client rules, and actively address any unwanted behaviors
· Firmly and courteously requests compliance from persons violating client rules or committing crimes, such as aggressive panhandling, loitering, or any disruptive behavior
· Monitors and patrols designated areas or zones while identifying and addressing any security concerns
· Responds to any incidents, investigates disturbances, and reports findings accurately and professionally
· Thinks critically in order to engage with the public and stakeholders to address security concerns in order to provide resolutions to issues or concerns
· Creates written, detailed, and accurate Incident reports and property condition reports
· Provides accurate descriptions of persons, vehicles, and other similar identifiers to law enforcement and others when needed
Required Skills/Ability
· Must have excellent observational skills in order to identify security concerns and implement strategies to resolve conflicts and formulate effective responses
· Must have the ability to remain calm in high- pressure situations
· Must have excellent communication skills in order to provide successful de-escalation strategies
· Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports. A high proficiency in the Spanish language is preferred but not required.
· Must have excellent critical thinking skills
· Must be able to articulate an accurate description of persons, vehicles, and other similar identifiers
· Must be able to develop written Incident reports and property condition reports that are detailed, accurate, and professional
· Must maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and Civicity/Block by Block standards of expected professionalism
Education and Experience:
· High School diploma or GED equivalent required
· Certifications in de-escalation techniques, defensive tactics, collapsible baton, chemical irritant or pepper spray, crime prevention, knowledge of surveillance camera systems, and FAA Part 107 drone pilot certification are also beneficial
· Valid State Guard Card, where applicable
