The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies. Provides basic patient care, processes films, maintains equipment, transports patients and prepares and maintains documentation. This position's work location is on-site only. Modality Specific * Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used for diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies. * Uses knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to create high quality scans. * Modifies technical settings and adjusts scanning parameters to enhance images and minimize unnecessary exposure. * Start IV's and/or catheters effectively and consistently for the MRI process. * Prepare, administer and monitor IV contrast and/or patient sedation and patient status. * Ensure completion of screenings for pacemakers and other patient status affecting qualification for MRI. Quality * Adheres to regulatory and organizational standards affecting patient care and safety as well as all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. * Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements, demonstrating ability to troubleshoot and notifying appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. * Assures the efficient operation of workflow of the department and monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and materials to ensure non-interruption of service. The Radiation Therapist is responsible for the daily management and delivery of radiation therapy using record and verify systems forvarious treatment techniques. Under the direction of the Lead Radiation Therapist, Dosimetrist, and Chief Medical Radiation Physicist or Medical Radiation Physicist, administers radiation treatment according to department policies and procedures.
