Job Summary: The MRI Technologist operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes and assists in MRI office with patient flow, scheduling and paperwork. This position could be a part time MRI position, or fulltime being shared in the X-Ray department. Job Duties Include: · Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts. · Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff. · Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance. · Assist and correspond with radiologist regarding procedure performance, including image quality. · Assist with department administrative duties when imaging duties are not required (including scheduling & clerical functions). · Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately. · Maintain accurate patient records. · Provide orientation for new technologists along with education, and training for student technologists. · Provide for the psychological and physical needs of patients for MR procedures. · Assist with education and training of new, department staff. · Keep updated on new protocols and MR imaging techniques. · Perform requirement equipment QC/QA tests. · Assist Radiology management with equipment maintenance and repairs. · Assist Radiology and Practice management with accreditation requirements. · Perform other related duties incidental to the work as needed. Schedule: various, 2-3 days a week. Duties/Responsibilities: Safely xrays patients per providers protocols following the ALARA guidelines. Correctly enters and bills exams based on providers protocols. Handle patient cases regarding copies of X-ray. Imports incoming CD's from outside facilities. Assist with coverage in the procedure room when necessary. Upload ultrasound images to PACS. Performs related work as required and other projects and duties as assigned.
