Essential Functions
Performs CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures and addresses patient concerns.
Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures.
Performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology.
Regulates the equipment used to expose the x-ray film, develops and documents PACS imaging.
Operates equipment safely and maintains SimonMed standards while performing call types of procedures.
Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, and facility staff.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Works under general supervision.

Essential Functions
The MRI Technologist operates the Magnetic Resonance operations at SimonMed Imaging centers.
Knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging procedures and technology
Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies
Selects appropriate imaging techniques, and operates console and peripheral hardware; enters and monitors patient data, transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develops film in automatic processor
Obtains images, produces film records and backups from disk to storage media, and transfers from desk to PACS stations
Maintains accurate study documentation
Performs a variety of tasks

Position Summary
Performs computed tomography procedures, reformats the computed tomography data that creates images needed for diagnosis and performed interventional and therapeutic procedures related techniques, producing data at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner. Recognize patient conditions essential for the successful completion of the procedure. Prepare, administer and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws or lawful institutional policy.
Position Responsibilities
Standard Work Duties: CT Technologist
Perform computed tomography procedures as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner. Assist a licensed independent practitioner with interventional computed tomography procedures.
Select appropriate technical factors with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition.
Manipulating and reconstructing data for interpretation. Archive data as appropriate and documenting patient exposures
Verifies patient identification and the procedure requested or prescribed and that the patient has consented to the procedure. Reviews all available patient medical record information to verify the appropriateness of the procedure requested or prescribed. Assess factors that may negatively affect the procedure.
Assesses patient for renal function prior to contrast media administration. Assess patient risk for allergic reaction to contrast media prior to administration. Determines the appropriate type and dose of contrast media to be administered, based on established protocols
Determines the need for and selects supplies, accessory equipment, shielding, positioning, and immobilization devices.
Provides an accurate explanation and instructions at an appropriate time and at a level the patient and their care providers can understand. Address questions and concerns regarding the procedure.
Uses a power injector for administration of medication when through PICC line catheter or port specifically for power injectors is available following manufacturer guidelines regarding infusion rate and pressure. Use radiation shielding devices. Use technical factors according to equipment specifications to minimize radiation exposure to the patient while maintaining image quality. Confirms patient position matches the selected scanning orientation parameters. Determine optimum placement of electrocardiogram (ECG) electrodes and correctly identifies ECG wave trigger.
Maintains current information on equipment, materials and processes. Perform ongoing quality assurance activities. Perform quality control testing of equipment. When appropriate, wears one or more personal radiation monitoring devices at the location indicated on the personal radiation monitoring device or as indicated by the radiation safety officer or designee. Maintains current knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards as published by the Joint Commission, CMS, ACR and the Florida DOH.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
The MRI Technologist operates the Magnetic Resonance operations at SimonMed Imaging centers.
Knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging procedures and technology
Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies
Selects appropriate imaging techniques, and operates console and peripheral hardware; enters and monitors patient data, transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develops film in automatic processor
Obtains images, produces film records and backups from disk to storage media, and transfers from desk to PACS stations
Maintains accurate study documentation
Performs a variety of tasks
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
Demonstrates competency in the performance of job-related skills appropriate to his/her customer populations and departmental services while providing excellent customer service.
Utilizes and operates equipment and mechanical devices which provide for a functional, effective, and safe environment.
Adheres to policies, procedures, guidelines relative to departmental operations.

Registration as a MR Technologist by the A.R.R.T. or ARMRIT
CPR certification
Experience
1 year in fast paced MRI environment preferred.
Physical Demands

JOB SUMMARY
The MRI Technologist performs a variety of MRI procedures in an outpatient setting while maintaining a high level
of customer service and quality patient care. The responsibilities of the MRI Technologist include performing
routine MRI procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist and demonstrating compassion to
ensure overall patient satisfaction.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs routine MRI procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist. Competently performs
procedures with limited supervision.
2. Properly inputs all required patient information into the system including protocol, patient history, referring
providers, and any additional information to the radiologist regarding the procedure. Able to burn CDs per
patient request.
3. Logs all injections with the amount, date, time, route, and response to injection. Reviews lab results for patients
including BUN and creatnine and calculates GFR as needed. Discusses BUN, creatnine, and GFR abnormalities with
the radiologist to determine if contrast is indicated.
4. Properly identifies patients and demonstrates compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality. Assumes
responsibility for patient care, safety, and comfort.
5. Takes responsibility to stock exam rooms with necessary supplies. Maintains equipment and reports any
equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or appropriate service provider.
6. Assists in other modalities as assigned.
7. Customer Service; Communicates effectively with staff and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner.
promotes teamwork by assisting other staff as needed. Words and actions support team improvement.
8. Maintains credentials for position.
WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
2 or more years in the Radiology field is preferred.
High School Diploma or GED.
Completion of a course in Radiologic Technology which is approved by the American Registry of Radiologic
Technologists.
Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the Florida
Department of Health. Advance certification in MRI is required.
SKILLS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Skills in properly positioning patients and obtaining diagnostic images, identifying equipment problems,
establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and public.
This job requires prolonged sitting or standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching; Must be able to see with or
without corrective eyewear, must be able to hear clearly, with or without assistance. This position may require lifting
50 plus pounds.
