Performs venipuncture, starts and maintains venous access. Prepares and administers contrast media. Verifies consent/screening form. Uses appropriate scripting, barriers and identifiers. Assists the physician with interventional procedures. Practices aseptic technique and observes universal precautions. Evaluates images and data for technical quality. Manipulates and reconstructs digital data for display, ensuring proper identification is evident. Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures. Uses radiology information systems (including PACS), completes all required records and reports, archives and submits images for physician review and interpretation. Initiates basic life support action when necessary. Provides practical instruction to partners and students.
