Summary
Reporting to the Director of Imaging Services and/or designee, the Diagnostic Imaging Technologist is responsible for radiological care to patients of all ages, for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomical and physiologic disorders using ionizing radiation. Must have working knowledge of conventional Radiology. Must be able to operate all X-ray equipment and PACS. Prepares exam room, equipment, supplies and medications for patient's procedures and is responsible for patient education. Proven competency in addition to conventional radiography, working knowledge in at least one other area CT, MRI, or Interventional Radiology if applicable competencies are met. May be required to take call.

This is a non-exempt hourly position with possible earnings of $131,000k - $142,000k/year with a sign-on bonus up to $20,000, plus relocation and travel allowance for longer commutes.

Summary:
The general MRItechnologist is a journey-level position working in either a clinic or acute care hospital facility. A. EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited ARMRIT or Radiologic Technologist ARRT program required 2 years' experience training in an ACR accredited facility or formal training with an accredited MRI program required. High school diploma or an equivalent G.E.D. program therein preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE
MRI experience within the last three years is preferred.
C. PREREQUISITE SKILLS
Technical ability to perform all MRI examinations as outlined in the MGH Diagnostic Imaging Services department policy and procedure manual Ability to interact with general public, clients, staff and referring physicians with diplomacy, tact and goodwill Able to communicate effectively with patients who are under stress Ability to participate in department team quality improvement activities Ability to function as a resource, actively participating in the training and orientation of coworkers and students is required.
LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
California Certified Radiological Technologist Certificate (CRT) preferred.
Possession of a valid MRI Certificate with ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist) or American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) for any individual and be in good standing with ARRT required within six months of hire.
If individual has ARRT, note that ARRT MRI designation is preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire.
One-time requirement: proof of venipuncture certification is required at hire.

Job Description
Under immediate supervision, performs a number of duties including assisting with diagnostic imaging procedures and image processing; assisting in transporting, and handling patients; assisting physician or diagnostic imaging technologists during examinations; keeping related files and records; and performs related duties as required.
The essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Assists with diagnostic imaging procedures and image processing; dispatches orderlies for patients designated for diagnostic examination by attending physicians; helps with patients when needed; assists in placing patients on table and helps Diagnostic Imaging Technologist in positioning seriously ill patients.
Attaches and removes equipment parts related to imaging; cleans equipment and facilities after completion of examination.
Schedules appointments and registers patients for various imaging modalities.
Manages digital images, including transferring information to and from electronic media and print documents as directed, using software such as Picture Archiving Communication (PACS).
Records information about the procedure in various computerized systems and logs
The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant performs other related duties as assigned/required.
