Job Summary and Qualifications
As a CT Technologist (CT Tech) you will perform CT scans and take x-rays according to the standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the American College of Radiology and the Texas Medical Board to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs Computed Tomography procedures to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomical images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
You will demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes and functions, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection and specialized techniques
You will verify written orders match requisition prior to performing exam
You will follow appropriate protocol for the exam ordered
You will administer contrast material using proper technique
You will enter appropriate charges and review for accuracy
You will correlate patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by the radiologist
You will manage patient flow to ensure that exams are prioritized appropriately and performed efficiently

Consistently produce CT - Computed Tomography scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric age groups.
Follows established scanning and viewing protocols.
Operate CT - Computed Tomography scanner and related equipment efficiently and effectively.
Complete quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organizing and prioritizing work flow to meet STAT and urgent demands while continuing to meet OP customer standards.
Demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute and challenging patients; possess skills to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed.
Demonstrate knowledge of disease processes and produces studies that optimally identify related anatomy.
Solicit patient cooperation by providing patient education about procedure and expected sensations before and throughout scan.
Demonstrate competence in using the power injector; verbalize limits of use.
Complete required documentation on forms, logs, work station, and charting system.
Assist the Radiologist during invasive procedures, demonstrate knowledge of supplies required and ensure availability.
Qualifications of the CT Technologist
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an America Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology
EXPERIENCE:
One year of experience performing CT - Computed Tomography procedures is preferred.
