Required to have full tool set to accomplish all electrical work 2. Required to have complete understanding of all safety requirements for an electrician and an employee of ECR&F 3. Ability to use material efficiently to prevent waste 4. Intermediate ability to read and interpret blueprints and to successfully identify material types, parts, references, and applicable views/details. 5. Skilled use of temporary attachments 6. Intermediate understanding of all requirements of the EPSIM 7. Intermediate skill in installation and removal of electrical equipment and process for material control 8. Must be able to accomplish required work using 3rd class personnel and helpers 9. Must be able to connect and disconnect temporary services and troubleshoot issues if they arise in the yard and at all work sites 10. Ability to understand the different voltage requirement for any yard related work (some shore power is 120-volt, 440 volts and 240 volts and some 24-volt DC 11. Good understanding of where all services are fed from in the yard and what and how to secure electrical systems in case of emergency, including temporary services not in the yard 12. Ability to recognizes tooling needs (Which tool to use for which application) 13. Ability to solve basic issues without need for Supervisory approval 14. Ability to read all associated metering devises and accomplish testing for V, VG op-test 15. Advanced use of power tools (grinders, reciprocating saws, drills etc.) 16. Advanced use of information tools to identify correct installation procedures for electrical equipment 17. Ability to correctly set up temporary service installation prior to use (running lines, chafing requirements etc.) 18. Intermediate knowledge of hook up of power generation 19. Intermediate knowledge of shipbuilding standards as per the EPSIM 20. Intermediate knowledge of inspection standards (009-73, 009-16, 009-17, 009-33, 009-36, 009-84, 009-23, 009-24, 009-25) 21. Adheres to lock out tag out and WAF safety principles 22. Ability to navigate onboard vessels to find work areas/backsides of work areas 23. Practical knowledge of industry safety standards/training 24. Adheres to industry safety standards 25. Follows all hot work requirements Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma or GED; and 2 to 3 years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Valid state motor vehicle operator's permit to operate electrician's cart and forklift truck for installation jobs. 3. High degree of precision working with minimum tolerances required. 4. High degree of attention and care required to prevent injury to others when responsible for flow of electrical power. 5. Must be able to gain access to military installations. 6. Must pass drug test and background check. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Ability to lift 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. 2. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs/vertical ladders; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This is a physically demanding position and may accommodate some physical disabilities. Physical dexterity may be required when performing walk thru and inspection of job sites. In the performance of the walk thru you will be required to transverse steep stairwells, vertical ladders and bending or stooping thru tight spaces. There may be occasional lifting of materials weighing not more than 50 pounds. Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: This position works on the jobsite. There is exposure to hostile environments, loud noises, hazardous chemicals/fumes and airborne particles, smoke, extreme temperatures moving mechanical parts: high, precarious places. Exposed to high voltage electricity. During work-site visits will be required to wear appropriate PPE including, but not limited to: Hard Hat Ear Plugs or Attenuator Safety Shoes Dust Mask or Respirator Gloves CRITERIA FOR ADVANCEMENT: 1.
